You severely underestimate the greed of Hollywood. A mainstream sci-fi franchise has too much potential.

In development means it's on a paper work form on a desk somewhere. Could just be conceptual at this stage. Heaps of movies get put 'in development' then never get signed off.

However, I do hope it's going to happen!

Doesn't mean it will, and since Bioware has officially stated that at this time they are not looking to make one, I'd say chances are in my favor here...
