I would assume its the thousands of deaths that he's personally responsible for as a leader of a mercenary group?  That's my guess at least.

Well, Shep's also killed thousands of people, so has Tali and all the others but i don't see anyone hating them for it :P

I fail to see how killing criminals, and luring freighter ships full of innocent people into an ambushable position, killing everyone, and then stealing the goods is the same thing :?

I thought murder was wrong no matter who you kill

Shepard is saving billions of people in the galaxy.  If he has to kill some idiotic mercs who are shooting at him, how does that possibly put him on the same level as people killing innocents for money?

They aren't on the same level, even if both could be classified as murder.

Actually in the long term leaving the workers to die and killing Vido will save more lives because there's nothing stopping him from taking over another refinery or doing something else just as bad, you say it's evil, i say it's logical thinking, what's a few hundred lives compared to the thousands that can be saved.

And about Morinth - for her killing is like drug, she needs it to survive and i'm pretty sure that anyone in her place would do it

No, in the long term killing vido does nothing we can even conceivably predict.

Sure killing vido might save lives
Or killing him might allow an even nastier person taking over.
Or maybe he's so terrified of Zaeed, since the guy next to him ate a bullet in the head, that he goes into hiding and uses up a ton of blue sun resources hiding himself away, crippling their activities.
You can't play the wat if game.

You can Maybe or maybe not save lives in the future, or you can definitely save lives now.

And it's not like Vido set off the explosive and it became a judgement call. Zaeed did it himself.

Thats evil.

My opinion on Zaeed changed quite a bit when I heard this line of his:

Zaeed's is at about 1:20

Tali's is about 1:00, if you're curious.

I had always liked the way they portrayed Zaeed personally. Her is a war-torn veteran willing to do what it takes for the good of humanity even if it means sacrificing some on the way. Which is something you have to learn from experience not just being told. Or logic, whichever you prefer.

Alright, I don't have a lot of experience with internet fandoms but I've got to say that, this thread excluded, that bioware social network has one of the most b!tchy, stuck up, ignorant and all round unpleasant communities I've ever been a part of.

I'm not just talking about the latest poll thing, that doesn't bother me, its all the trolls, ignorant haters, and pretentious hipsters that post here.

The worst this place see's, is quite mild by internet standards.

I know there are worse places but this one is pretty bad, so much senseless hate and people who think its funny to ****** people off for no good reason.

I wish this place had mods like on relicnews forums

You never played an MMORPG with different factions/races/whatever who fight ingame against each other. Compared to those forums this place here looks like a kindergarten.

Consumating your feelings doesn't necessarily mean that you're deepening your emotional feelings for someone. Would it mean less if she said she loved you but didn't want to have sex?

I dont quite think I understand what you are trying to say or vise versa. Simple sex between two humans I could understand why you are saying this, but having sex with Shepard could kill her. It isnt something that just happens willy nilly like 1 night stands which a simple love interest could be. I really dont know how to put it differently than this.Image IPB

You're tying sex with a development of feeling, even if there's risk involved, it doesn't mean it's a development of your emotional feelings for someone. It's gratifying of your physical needs and desires... Sure she's willing to risk her life because she loves you; but it doesn't mean she loves you anymore than if she had not wanted to risk her own life to have sex with you.

There's no time for that.  Its a suicide mission :wizard:

In all seriousness though, they aren't people living a normal life.  They're friendship that they developed over ME1 to pre-romance ME2 was the platonic liking.  Once they officially get together, what are they supposed to do?  They can't go on dates or anything.  They've already experienced more together than any other couple could.  The only thing left is sex.

My issue was the lack of an emotional curve... Sure I liked Tali in ME1; but she never showed any interest, that whole game was a development of stranger to platonic friend... Then jump to ME2 and she's already in love with you, I would've felt more rewarded at having tow ork from platonic friends again, maybe even general distrust at you for being with cerberus. Anything to feel as if I had to do anything but smile at her.

You can't see the possible development of love in ME1?  She's a 22 year old woman, who is saved by a handsome commander, who treats her like a friend and equal, despite people normally treating her like crap.  They go off to save the world together, and succeed.  Why wouldn't she develop feelings for him?  It isn't like she's been around the block before, this is her first time dealing with her feelings.  She would be like a high school girl dealing with a serious relationship.

We also don't see 3 weeks post ME1.  Just because we don't see it, doesn't mean the relationship couldn't have grown in that time.  Tali put off completing her pilgrimage and going back to her people to be around Shepard longer.

She had two years to think about you while you were dead. I'm sure she had some emotions to sort out during that period.

I'm talking about my experience of playing ME2, not what may or may not have happened behind the scenes ina  fictional universe... It's not like reading redemption and getting a glimpse into what she was up to or how she felt, all we have is "Maybe she was thinking about you every day"

I dont think the Blue Suns were all that bad before. They were prob just a regular merc gang until Vido took over and then they became really bad.

Read Mass Effect: Revelation, they were still scum then

They were just starting then?

Humans were jsut starting then, so I assume that they were too

How many years before ME1 does Revelation take place?

eight years after the first contact war

From the looks of it this is coming down to basic thoughts of opinion, cant say I see this will be going anywhere. It was very insightful though, something new to think about.

Once again, I am talking about my experiences in ME2... and in ME2, her romance didn't develop.. It started and stayed at that level through the whole thing, unless of course you turned her down.

“What could I possibly be suggesting? I mean, a young woman gets rescued by a dashing commander who lets her join his crew and then goes off to save the galaxy? (Twice, hehe) How could she possibly develop any kind of interest in him?”

No I haven't
I come from RTS and 40K communities mostly
The worst arguement  I ever got in before here was with some pretentious eldar player who thought the Imperium of Man was evil

Then I came here

Well that much I wasn't arguing.  To that though I would say, why wouldn't ME1 count?  She was the same person there, and her experiences then are why her romance lacks development now.  If you first met her on Haestrom, she wouldn't be jumping into a relationship just like that.

I can see someone who didn't play ME1 thinking that, but thats only because they don't have the full story.

I would wish for the ME universe to be real, and to be Shepard.  No question.  It would be so amazingly awesome.
