Shepard: Hey Tali... did you ever get a copy of the music from Flux? I remember you showed interest in it.

Tali: :crying: No. I asked the owner, but he said no--and apparently he didn't like Quarians, so he told me to leave.

Shepard: Hm. Really...

*Few hours later*

Shepard: Hey Tali, here's that music from Flux. I got you a copy. *Wipes blood off armor*

I don't know, last time I checked most European nations liked Canada a lot more then they liked the US.

It all comes down to who Britian and Russia sides with, Germany possibly if they can bring their military to full power again.

France and Italy are always useless in war, and knowing Spains track record they'll probably start a civil war as an excuse to not get involved.

Dont underestimate Frances potential, they may have screwed up during WW2 but the rest of there military records are impressive.

Military track record is decent, war track record is a complete disaster.

It is possible to loose wars while winning battles.

I am indeed a student, but probably not the type you think.  At least not if you think I am a psych or anthro major.  I do proof read many of my posts but I don't get to all of them.  Mainly they are what I want them to be because I've gotten used to only speaking after I have thought something through, at least in cases where pause is acceptable.  For everything else I'm am thinking about how what I say will affect another's perception of me, how they will interpret my statement, and what might happen if they misinterpret my statement.  If anywhere along that thought process I believe what I am saying will have a negative outcome, I stop speaking.

My understanding of interaction comes as a direct result of what I have been through.  When a casual statement can get you into a fight against a person who may or may not be better at fighting than you, you tend to speak carefully.  I often make the assumption that the other person is willing to go further than I am (ie, violence), which ultimately leads to me surrendering a point.

My experiences have also made me quite good at reading people, as well as given me a curiosity about people.  When you can usually judge when someone is angry (especially good at this one), sad, happy, or indifferent from one sentence, interaction becomes almost easy.  As such I have developed the aforementioned curiosity because I am good at finding the answer.

I am an art student, but I have taken a strong interest in socialogy and anthropology, so reading people has become a habit I picked up. I have done much reading in texts about humanitaries and such, but I like to learn and experiment firsthand, explaining my often cynical behavior to others. And when I get into debates, I like to think on the matters from both perspectives and not just defend my own position, after all, I could be wrong.

So, what have you read of me?

That you haven't already told me?  Honestly I had a similar impression to what you have described.  You pegged me as a student, and because of your comment about experiments and how you tied it into me being a student, you seemed like an arts and humanities student.  Most arts and humanities students feel that the best way to learn about people is to take a class about them.  They feel that taking a class about it makes you somehow knowledgeable and experienced.  It may give you some insight into others but real experience is needed to truly comprehend others. My brother's girlfriend, my brother, and my other brother's girlfriend all feel as if classes give you understanding.

Now, granted that opinion comes from someone who has had over eight therapists with varying degrees in psychology that have never done anything for me my mother or friends couldn't.  I have an inherent distrust for anyone who has a degree in psychology because they are so walled off to reality that they failed to help me in any way.  In other words I'm biased.

I personally believe that you shouldn't need classes to teach you about people.  Everything I know I learned on my own.  I went from a dysfunctional child that disregarded others' viewpoints on the way to getting what I wanted to a man that never looks at a situation from only one perspective.

They got bailed out a lot, first by Britain in WW1 then the Allies in WW2
they lost the indochina war in a spectacular fashion (compared to the slow death that Maerica duffered, we won battles, france couldn't even pull that off)

My military expierence is limited to study and cadets, tell me your plan

It's not really a plan and it varies by scenario.......
One plan that might work is old but feasible and would only delay them until British reinforcements arrived
If the Americans attempt a "peaceful invasion" or annexation of Canada and if we had advanced warning we could ambush certain American units (they'd most likely land forces at Major Canadian Airports and Bases via Air), hold them hostage and blackmail the American Government (highly unlikely I know)
Like I said this all varies and it's all unlikely at any rate

I agree!

Thing is though, if hypothetically Shepard were to do the stripper thing at Afterlife, I can see Tali getting sad about it (at least early on in their relationship).

I think she'd rationalize it as something along the lines of "I can't blame him for wanting to look at a woman who isn't completely covered by a suit..." :crying:

The idea of holding out until the brits arrive is your best bet. The british troops are really well trained, probably the best in the world. You could trade land for time and american lives until public support turns against the war.

With the SAS on your side this would be even easier. Those guys don't mess around.
