Shepard: There's an asteroid rich system just outside the Perseus Veil. It's ideal for your megastructure, and organics won't be interested in it. How about you guys leave Rannoch and go there? You guys aren't using the planet, and it would forge peace between the Geth and the Quarians. 

*5 minutes later*

Geth Collective: Consensus is achieved. We will leave Rannoch. 

Red text:
Shepard: I'm commander Shepard--You guys know me, I'm that human that's killed like, a billion Geth and two Old Machines. I want you to leave Rannoch.

*4 Minutes later*

Geth Collective: Consensus is acheived. We will leave Rannoch.

I was going to write one about Tali learning about human history while on the SSV. Not so much "daww" as it is sobering. It's too long though, might post it in my blog or w/e people usually do.

Hood space could be for tubes and such, similar to those worn by male Quarians.

But the males don't wear them, which means the function that they serve women is either non-existent, or small enough that men don't bother.

I think a proxy for hair is the logical explanation, especially when you factor in that they specifically decorate them.

I think you are forgetting that quarians aren't real. Bioware developed Tali's hood to be aesthetically pleasing. It does not need to exist for any other reason.

Well, yeah, but that's the truth hovering over any speculation discussion.  We can try and come up with likely outcomes based on what we're given, but in the end, its all Bioware's whim, and they can retroactively explain anything they want.

So until ME3, we are left to make up some reason that quarian females wear a decorated hood and men don't.  Hair proxy seems like the simple and likely reason to me.

She would have found out 10 seconds later by Ken, Gabby, Shepard, EDI herself.  I don't see any possible way it would have changed things

We did all we could to try and convince him to stay...hopefully he'll be back in a few days.

That is... unfortunate.

Rune is one of the few individuals I recognize as real contributors to the cause. If a handful are alienated by his extremist views, which I agree with, then let them. They make their choices, we make ours.
