So, what's going on in the thread? I'm kinda jumping in and out here.

We were discussing emotion in games and games as an art form.

Many people do but some lock them up
I go to an all gouys school where feelings=gay so we have to maintain an air of manliness at all times, except on retreats and in the football team

I have a friend with same kind of point of view towards video games like I and many people here have. Only person I can speak to about deepness of charecters and  the story. (Face to Face)

Ah.  A good topic, and one that very few people outside of gamers understand.

I know that if I ever told any of my friends that Mass Effect (and several other games) have made me teary eyed several times, I'd get laughed out of town.  Annoying <_<

It's really sad when people won't go deep with a game because they're lazy/stupid or that would be considered "gay" and just throws it into two categories: Sucks or Rocks.

There was a day when Rock-music was not considered as art. There will be a day, when video games are considered as art. (Or atleast games like ME2 and Heavy Rain)

That just means you're not using enough alcohol and/or rage.

Halfweights can't subscribe to this doctrine and expect results,
you've got to put your entire being into kicking ass to make it work.

Wait what?  If you're referring to anything other than the inventory/skillpoints system you've lost me here

There's people who play games...and then there's gamers.

We are gamers.

ME2 has got plenty of emotion in it
Especially in the Garrus and Tali loyalty missions. We all know about the Alarei and revoking of the man card but the scene with Sidonis where Garrus couldn't shoot him after Shepard talks to him was so well done along with the conversation in the car. Better than many movies

Yeah, just to appeal to the "casual" gamers. Can't risk them hurting their brains, or actually THINK.

To me, it's just an insult.

I don't see why people won't admitt that they feel happy, sad, angry when playing games I mean its a natural thing, u can't help it, no point hiding from it, I do like to keep my thoughts reserved though as I don't really know many people who would agree with me.

ME`s story is very deep. It is not all about the war against the reapers and their minions.

Am I the only one here who thought ME2 was more thought provoking and indepth than ME1 was?  I feel so alone :crying:

Well, at least so far as characters go.

I agree is got motion, its just, well its been over simplified. That's what peeves me the most. Over simplified games are a dime-a-dozen.

Yeah, the gameplay was meant to be easy to understand.  I had no problems with the emotions in the game.

Gameplay itself was, but the story was more deeper then in first ME.

Well, I was thinking more about the RPG-elements and the gameplay. The characters are very well done. I can feel and understand what most of them went through.
