Sure, you're not fighting the reapers yet, sure the collectors really didn't get enough airtime,
but if it worked for The Empire Strikes Back it'll work for Mass Effect 2.

I guess it comes down to what you define as the "story."Savakka1 wrote...

Am I the only one here who thought ME2 was more thought provoking and indepth than ME1 was? I feel so alone
Myself, I treat every single thing I learn, every character I meet, every mission I undertake as part of the story. I don't (often) separate the main plot from the sub plots because the characters are equally important as the reaper threat is.

Not at all. My cousin and I were talking about it last week, how ME2 seemed to be a much more involving story. Totally don't see it as being dumbed down.JeanLuc761 wrote...

It's really sad when people won't go deep with a game because they're lazy/stupid or that would be considered "gay" and just throws it into two categories: Sucks or Rocks.
That is what happened with ME2. Been dumbed down to there levels.
Yeah, just to appeal to the "casual" gamers. Can't risk them hurting their brains, or actually THINK.
To me, it's just an insult.
Well, at least so far as characters go.
As to how Liara and Ash/Kaiden were handled on the other hand...<_<

I fully agree with you. ME1's gameplay was simple as well. And the characters and emotions of the game weren't anywhere near the levels of ME2. ME1's advantage was that the universe was new and engulfing. No where near ME2 from an emotional standpoint though.

That just means you're not using enough alcohol and/or rage.

ME2 is the most though provoking, emotional rollercoaster I have ever experienced, I though DA:O was good but that was then, this is now, ME2 is just amazing, its a lot deeper than just killing reapers and collectors, if u want a game like that, I say go and play COD, if u want to play a REAL game that makes you think then ME is for you, I really enjoyed playing this game and it really shows us what games might be like in the future...JeanLuc761 wrote...

I agree, but only so far as Singleplayer-heavy games go.SPARTANMST wrote...
I hate how most people think that games have to just involve blowing things up and that story and character development isn't important. IMO the most important things in a game are:
1.Story
2.Characters
3.Soundtrack
4. Gameplay
in that order
did i miss anything?
If I'm looking for a good multiplayer game, gameplay always comes first (Unreal Tournament 2004)

I wouldn't mind if they turned Mass Effect 3 into one huge 30 hour interactive movie, as long as the choices were there as wel as some good actuin scenes I'd be happy

Graphics is something that a lot of people care about.
Personally, I couldn't care less about graphics or soundtrack.

That's about how I view my single-player games.
Although sometimes story and characters are interchangeable. Like in the Fire Emblem series for example...love the characters, but the story isn't always the best.

Graphics i agree but not soundtrack. A really good soundtrack can add soo much to the whole game experience or on the other hand, a bad one can destroy it completely.
