A hooded Shepard, Kasumi, and Tali. Assassin's Creed's got nothing on that.
Altair is riding Garret's coat-tails, though.

Well done! 19 pages in and we have begun a discussion, I'm so proud of you guys.
But my thoughts; The quarian/geth conflict will lose about half of the personal connection, making it much harder to negotiate with the quarians, seeing as how you are responsible for the death of one of their heroines.

Hypothetically, if Tali were to die, I don't think there should be any short cut to get over that. No squadmate replacement, no quarian sympathy, I think you should get punished for losing her, or any squadmate for that matter. You are directly responsible for that death, and to overcome that by smoothe-talking the quarians would cheapen her death.
It will likely effect the Geth and Quarian story, to what extent I am not sure. This is due in part to the fact that you will almost certainly be able to play as a new Shepard in ME3, there is a possibility for some characters to be dead so allusions to ME2 will not be as frequent for the new player who would not understand them - just as they did with Wrex, the Rachni Queen, and the council. Tali's death may affect the possibility of recruiting the Quarians to your cause, although I am doubtful. Most likely, another NPC will replace her as the figurehead of the Quarians if that is her role in ME3.Azint wrote...
Okay, everyone is rambling about the aftermath. Let's actually try and start an on-topic discussion, I will start with a daring topic;
What do you think will happen if you start a game of Mass Effect 3 with Tali killed? How will the game play? What sort of impact will it have on the story?
And no saying crap like; I will never let Tali die! The point of the discussion is to share ideas, not dismiss them.

Well first of all, I will never let Tali die, so the discussion is pointless to me
That said, I don't think it will change anything. You will go to the Tali related side quest (reclaiming their homeworld,) and another quarian will most likely act as a proxy in Tali's role of leading you around the flotilla and explaining things.
The quarians may be bigger jerks to you a la Wrex/Reave, but it won't make the mission impossible or anything.

Of course you personally cannot police them, they will continue ruining the thread for some sick pleasure or something. I am pretty desensitized to just about anything that would churn the blood of the average person, but I am just very disappointed to see it in this thread when we are perfectly able not to. This is not 4chan, I am not supposed to expect it in here.Goat_Shepard wrote...
Aww cmon man that's a moderators job, I can't police Jake and random trolls that have no allegience to any character it seems. Some images make me want to vomit but man I've seen some sick sh!t on the internet and in real life too. Let's you know how little humanity there is in this world. Dealing with moronic people and some of the more intelligent posters has been mind-boggling, but to quote one of my favorite characters:
"Those who are not constantly challenged, become weak."
I know...poor QuariansTali's strong though :innocent:

Cool story brogan.
I personally believe it is very possible for Tali to sway the Admiralty Board in favor of peace should she provide testament to Shepard and Legion's activities against the Heretic Geth. Shepard and obviously Legion are outsiders. If Tali is exonerated, she may help the effort in the Quarians realizing that peace is an option.Phil725 wrote...

Tali didn't really seem like a heroine during her trial. At least half of the crowd was just fine with declaring her a traitor with no evidence. She also would have died a hero (if it was possible for her to be killed.) It isn't like Shepard killed her randomly.
And as much as I like Tali, she really isn't hugely important to the quarians reclaiming the homeworld. Shepard and Legion are the key people. Legion is the portal into the geth viewpoint, and Shepard can converse with/boss around the admirals without Tali. Tali didn't really add much during her trial.

Who replaces her? You need a Quarian crewmate, how could you have a playthrough with no Quarian? If Garrus is dead do you not have a Turian? Grunt dead you dont get Wrex or any krogan? Seems a boring-ass playthrough
I would like to adopt a Quarian like that one on Omega. Make him my protege. Name him Junior....

She was highly regarded until the trial came, and when you charm or intimidate the Admiralty Board, her name is restored.Phil725 wrote...

The Thief series is one of the better arguments I've ever seen that PC gaming used to be better than it is now.
ME2 is one of the better counter-arguments.
