That was the reason they gave for it only going to 30 during interviews, so it seems likely.Deadeas wrote...

I don't expect there to be any recruiting in ME3, save for Ashley/Kaiden and Liara. ME2 was all about recruiting people, I don't see why they'll make you do it again. There's no point.
What happened in ME2 with a lot of stuff getting "undone" was just a deus ex machina to do a mini "reboot", which allowed them to give you a bigger Normandy, explore other LIs, introduce an illegal AI, introduce the new ammo concept, etc.
Something someone brought up the other day, I do wonder how they plan on resetting our skills this time around. It isn't like Super Metroid where we can just hit an explosion at the end of the tutorial mission and start at level 1. I'm not sure what they're gonna try to pull

Why? Do they really need to explain dropping back down to level one? It's one of the few forms of gameplay and story segregation I can accept.Deadeas wrote...

Tali's name being changed to "vas Normandy" is seriously one of the coolest things in all of ME2. She's like, the only squad member that 'officially' gets moved into the Normandy.
You're his battlemaster, but he's Urdnot Grunt, not Normandy Grunt.

I think it'll just reset with no explanation. It's not like Metroid where you lose gear and equipment. These are just 'skills'
And as for the gear and equipment you've found in ME2, ME3 will start with the council putting you on trial, and you have to break out of a holding cell or something. When you get back to the Normandy (which is impounded), all your weapons and stuff will have been confiscated.

They'll hold you in a cell until you 'forget' your skills.

Yeah, random unexplained reset is my guess for what happened.
And thoses asses better not arrest me to start ME3, I want to fight them on my terms, not theirs

I don't think Shepard can just say: I'm bored with Infiltrator now, so let's go with Vanguard.
At least some good reason would be nice.

I'm quite sure that EDI will ensure any computer system attempting to lock her systems down will explode violently in the face of its operator.

I've been planning an ME3 speculation fanfic for a while now. That's how it'll start--with you being in a holding cell after a hearing by the council.

Bioware actually has good writers. If she doesn't return (and she will return) they won't give an explanation as half-assed as that. Besides, what if someone doesn't romance her? She has no reason to be worried so much, then.MarineBorn wrote...

This fits in my with my 10X worse character assassination than Liara exception. Like I said, in no believable scenario she leaves the Normandy.

EDI: Shepard, during <insert something here> many of the ship's databases became corrupt. Your personnel file needs to be reconstructed.
Then you pick manual reconstruction or automatic.
