Cute dialogs for Earthborn Shepard?
Do you not remember the details of that origin?
Spaceborn will probably have the best. "Meet The Parents", anyone?
The details were that he had a lonely and difficult childhood, supplemented by gangs. It never said how Shepard felt about it. Maybe he wanted to be a thug who hurt people, or maybe he was empty, not having a family, and joined the gangs. Many people join gangs for just that reason. Wether the dialogues are cute or not is irrelevent, I'd just like them to be there...
As for Space Born, problem with that is that Shepard's face is not static, meaning that showing either of Shepard's parent's faces would be difficult at best.

They're *so* going to have a racist NPC that you run into on Earth.
I'm pretty sure I'll score some renegade points when I run into him.

My face bears absolutely zero resemblance to my father, it's all from my mother's side (thank goodness too, all the men on my dad's side went bald by my age

I'm aware of that. Joining a gang isn't a noble thing, but Shepard obviously wanted something better, either to escape the life of a thug, or to find a way to murder and kill in a more legal capacity, seeing as he left for the Alliance.

Well...I'm not sure I like how it's shaping up. Having such a dark, informal area seems out of place for an interview locale. Maybe somewhere on the Presidium would be a better idea (even if I have to invent a part of it)?

There are a lot of reasons to join the military, some not so noble. I mean, you could just look at it as a bigger, tougher gang.RiptideX1090 wrote...

Shepard probably did some bad things no matter what. If you play as renegade, then Shep probably joined a gang to cause trouble, get what he wanted, and generally hurt people.
If you're a paragon it'll probably be like you said with Shep just feeling empty and looking for a family of some kind. After realizing that this wasn't the life he wanted, he join the Alliance to start over with his life.
As for the family thing, they could always do it like Fallout 3 with the face of the parent is determined on how your character looks. Hard to program, maybe, but not impossible.
