But they make great speeches.
At least Sovereign did.
We are legion. The time of our return is coming. Our numbers will darken the sky of every world. You cannot escape your doom.

Then we shall fight from the shade. But no hiding!

On a more serious note, I like the Reapers well enough. I was kind of okay with them in ME1, but for some reason, ME2 really got me much more into them. Maybe it's the implications behind the Collectors, maybe it's the fact that we sort of know what they're actually up to now, or maybe it's just the fact that Harbinger is so amusingly hammy. In the end, their quasi-god-like image is kind of refreshing in a villain, to tell the truth, as is their just purely overwhelming power.
Generally, I prefer a little more subtlety in my villains, but for some reason the Reapers just tickle me. Though I do think they're agents, like Saren, tend to be pretty fascinating as well. Given the hints dropped in
Ascension regarding the quarians and the Reapers and what we see during Tali's loyalty mission, I'm half-expecting that Xen, leading a rogue faction of quarians, will end up filling Saren's role in ME2.
How ironic that would be.
