Think of it this way. She was used by TIM and by extention Cerberus because of her sister's / Father's situation. Listen to what she tells you when she speaks of Cerberus, of TIM and of what she percieves they have done for her and her sister.
Until you came along and proved that you didn't care if she was of "use" (how ironic is that?!) and helped her anyways to rescue her sister.
She began to see things not just from the perspective that she always had, that Cerberus was the end all, be all for humanity. She must have at some point come to realise that Cerberus and in particular TIM was using her just as her father would.

There is loyalty borne of trust, then there is just blind loyalty. She had the latter, Shepard gave her the option of the former.

Hey, shut up. I don't want to like Miranda :bandit: [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie]  but really, it's a combination of her annoying badgering "I'm 2nd in command" bs and the fact she is rather dumb in the game, I could probably make a rather long list of how many times she's wrong in the game.

Shepard: "Did Niket know you kidnapped your father's daughter?"
Miranda: "No, he just found out about that recently, I guess I never thought of it that way"
Shepard: DERP!

And what possessed you to stay up until 5:30AM?

Well, I was up 'till like 3:30ish on this board, and then I kinda worked on a fanfic for an hour, then I watched some Married with Children reruns. <3

I had never watched Married with Children until I began a nocturnal lifestyle.  Now I've seen the entire series multiple times through, just from the episodes that are on from 5-7am.  Such a great show to watch at that time of the day :wizard:

Really?  That lowered my opinion of her.  Her whole thing was loyalty.  She's loyal to the death for what she believes in.  Well clearly not.  :?

I get the good side of turning your back on Cerberus, but after all that they've done for Miranda, its just a massive betrayal by her.  I don't see how you can trust her going forward personally.

Nice avatar Phil Image IPB

And you guys are keeping me on the fence as far as whether I should kill offMiranda or not. Her quitting Cerby isn't enough for me to trust her. I remember when I first saw her in the trailers I thought (She has to be a spy or someone that stabs you in the back). I usually stick with what my truthiness tells me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating killing her off.  I just have two levels of trust.  There's one group that I would gladly put my life in their hands no matter what, and another that I would prefer to be able to kick off my team for ME3.  I wouldn't kill them or anything, but everyone is expendable really, I don't want someone who will put the Alliance's goals over mine, or someone who would idiotically try and kill me for making renegade decisions.

With Miranda, Cerberus has done way more for her than I've ever done for her.  How can I be sure that she won't find something new to be loyal to at a later date?

Also of note, she doesn't quit Cerberus because of what they did.  She was with them for all of their horrible experiments and acts.  The period from the start of ME2 until the end of it, Cerberus is pretty damn heroic.  And that's when she decides to betray them.

is difficult to say, cerberus works in closed cells so there is not much info going on, we cant really know what Miri knows, i'm a bit sceptical too for some things, but for how the organization is build it is pretty possible that Miranda dont know the bad things cerberus did or knows only the "version" that TIM gave her.

TIM is pretty ruthless and going to do anything "necessary" for the greater good i suppose lies to his men to secure their loyalty are quite common... it will be interesting to know the story about him (didnt read the books) i will be not surprised if he turns to be a sort of GoTo from kotor2

Nah, she's not so bad.
At least her character had personality. Wished I could say the same for Liarra in ME1. I was like "ummm... I am suppose to romance *that?!* Come on....gimme something to work with here other then a face that looks just out of puberty.
No offense to the Liarra fans.
Though as I mentioned earlier, tentables above, means tentacles below , all of which equates to a gripping experience. :P

I use to watch it way back when I was a kid my dad. Lots of good times!

Though I imagine a lot of the jokes went over my head at the time.
