Yes, but paragon Shepard puts himself in more danger in his effort to preserve life. When he spared executing Dr. Hart, he just got attacked by him. When he didn't kill that merc who was repairing the choppa' (who said he wasn't even going to fight), he had to put up with a tougher boss fight. When he prevented Kal'Reeger from helping in the fight, it just put more of a burden on him. The list goes on and on.

Renegade takes the easier path; thus, he sees slightly less conflict. But, in renegade's defense, many of the time his actions are obviously more logical and tactical, and just plain increase the odds of the mission being a success. 

In short words: Renegade = Lazy way. Paragon = Hard work.

But he still headbutted a krogan lol so at least he's got more brain damage...that doesn't help <_<
