Those where nukes, IE atomic bombs aka Nuclear fission, The modern Bomb isn't atomic and don't call it ballistic that only stats the arch of the missile. The modern WMD is the Hydrogen Bomb, aka hell bomb, aka Fission Tactical Device. Currently the declassifed warheads are Fission-Fussion Device, it uses Plutonium at its core to create the heat and preassure nessary to push the Hydrogen Istopoe to ignition temperatures. Once the Material hits this state it becomes a pure Fussion reaction thus instead of emmiting radition in the form of Sundered particles, massive ammounts of heat is generated which will litterly Explode the air anything in the blast would be melted and fussed with any material at the site. The biggest bomb the Czar bomb developed by USSR is a Fission-Fussion-Fission Device, this is the only know bomb in the megaton range that will leave radition at the blast site.
