Hello my lovely people. How are we all doing?

I've been doing some digging around about Shepard's vision on from the beacon on Eden Prime. Looks like the Protheans (sp) tried to fight back, but instead suffered a slow, painful death.

Problematic.

When the reapers attacked the protheans, they had the advantage of being able to get into the galaxy through the citadel and then destroying the prothean civilization with their own information and technology stored there. We've already prevented them from using the citadel, so we're a little better off.

Only a little though. Concidering the center of our galactic government refuses to believe the reapers geth pose any real threat to the galaxy with their super-ships.

The Council is irrelevant. Shepard is a few talks away from building his own Council.

Quarians, Geth, Krogan, and Rachni?

Who cares about the Council?

So, did the Reapers on wipe out the Protheans, or any other races?

They never had a chance, the central nervous system of their society was wiped out before they even knew anything was going on.  Sure they would try to fight, and their Ilos plan was a very successful dying move, but they were never going to win.

Almost like someone planned for that to happen

And then they got 50,000 years of suffering, slavery, and violation of their very being as a reward.

If its any consolation, I would assume 99.999% were just plain killed off

I don't know how many collectors there were, but there would have been billions and billions of protheans, and there wasn't nearly that many collectors.

Shame what happened to the protheans. I hope they don't magically show up in ME3 though.

They might, There was never really an explaination on why the Charon Relay was frozen solid and inoperable, maybe the Protheans found away though before the Reapers go to their system, and found away to freeze the relay so it couldn't be activated on the other side. So they might be hidding in the Local Cluster, atm the only system we can go to in the local cluster is Sol, who knows what system in the cluster they could hide.

Protheans were the only advanced race! That's kinda badass.

Some have theorized that they were conquerors, but I don't believe that. They left humans alone, despite our awesome planet.

Were they?

I had always assumed they were just the dominant ones at the time. There are plenty of ruins around that may or may have not been Prothean.

They were.  The other ruins are probably from previous cycles.

Having the protheans still be alive would be a pretty bad plot twist. I could see it a mile away.

Not a consolation.  Doing what was done to the protheans to even a single individual is a horror without parallel.

I would assume thousands of races throughout history.  They've been at it a while.  We're led to believe it was only protheans last time though.

Scene with Conrad Verner should have been:

Conrad : "Training? I don't have time for training!"

Paragon: "Conrad....I am gonna make this perfectly clear .." *shoots foot*

Paragade / Renegon : " Conrad.... *head butt, knees groin roundhouse to the jaw* *wakes Conrad up "You aren't even wearing real armor Conrad, what does your non-training tells you to do about this?" *Shoots knee*

Renegade: "Conrad, I am going to do the universe, your wife and you a favor." *Shoots groin* "People like you, should not be allowed to breed".

Presumably everyone they could find every 50,000 years, stretching as far back as at least 37,000,000 years.

Yeah, I agree.  Was just meaning that the vast majority of the Prothean race probably didn't face that fate.

We've got, like, turians, asari, humans, quarians, drell, hanar (maybe), elcor, volus, batarians, rachni and krogan.

I think we're going to win, but it's going to be pretty damn close.

Many will die. Many will suffer fates worse than death.

But for the first time in millions of years, the galaxy will be safe.
