Yes.  You will cry bitter, womanly tears at the tragedy, hardship, and triumph.

Edit:  Getting kinda choked up just thinking about it.

Sounds like I have to hand over my man card while playing it.

If you complete both of them, you're awarded a platinum man-card for the epic feat you have accomplished against all odds.

Y'know what would suck? If Shepard gave his/her life to defend the galaxy. I can see it happening, but I won't be able to see Tali anymore. :(

Nope. Happy ending or I shut the whole thing down.

I may not like it...but the pessimist in me says this will happen.

I don't see it.  There is no motivation for a sad ending.  It just doesn't usually fit video games or trilogies that well, and this is no exception.  Everyone is personally attached to Shepard, we don't want him to die.  Only other reason would be an extremely lazy way to add emotion to the game, and Bioware is better than that.

Plus, why destroy the ability to make money on DLC and expansions?

This reminds me of one of cannedcream's fics.  It took my soul, chewed on it for a few minutes, then put it in a blender, poured the bits on the street, ran them over with an SUV, picked up the pieces, and finally launched them into the sun.

I love Homeworld. Man, I wish they'd make a third one.

Don't hold your breath.  This world is too broken to deserve Homeworld 3.

Edit:  "The prisoner did not survive interrogation."

"Relic has not confirmed nor denied any possible work done on Homeworld 3, in fact employees are making indirect allusions about Homeworld 3."

Also Relic has reaquired the right to the franchise, as of 2007.

I really hope they don't do this.  They've already done the "Shep dies" thing, and several other high-profile games have ended with the death of the protagonist.

I also hope that they don't have such an ending so they can sell more DLC.

Edit:  It's also tough to build a home on Rannoch when you're dead, so Shep will probably avoid that.

They get to lord it over the peons who aren't manly enough to have one.  Sorta like how I lord things over you.

Usually, in a good story, the protaginist dies to drive a point home.  If Shepard dies at the end of ME3, the only point that will be driven home is my controller through my television.

I would love that.  But if I expect the worst, I might be pleasantly surprised, so again, I'm not holding my breath.

I don't know man... you never know. I mean, Shepard is the saviour of the galaxy, and the Reapers are the biggest threat of all existence.

Things aren't looking good, if you ask me. :?

I don't want Shepard to die, but the wind is blowing that way.

F3 had this kind of ending with the protagonist being dissolved into green goo. Then they backpedaled and released a DLC that retconned the ending...
