In ME3 there's going to be a scene in which Harbinger attempts to assume direct control of Shepard via his reaper-based cybernetic implants, but Shepard will fight it. Then he'll look at Tali, and it'll give him the will power to resist!

What?

That's right up there with Shep getting shot, falling over, and then standing back up, unharmed.

"Look, the Quarian Ally medal I had in my pocket stopped the bullet!"

Are you suggesting that this couldn't happen?

No, just throwing out another ridiculous (but acceptable) cliche.

Some of the missions in those games were just plain...brutal.

Hmmmm, okay how about this scenario
Shepard turns out to be secretly an agent for the Reapers and sabotages the defence of the Milky Way
Tali then dies and he realizes he really loved her
He then goes on to defeat the Reapers but he dies by blowing up that star and taking the Repaers with him
But then it turns out Tali survived and she gets all sad at Shepard's death
Then Kal'Reegar or Garrus comes along and bangs her for the rest of their lives
Then the story ends........feel better?

That's stupid.

Y'know what would suck? If Shepard gave his/her life to defend the galaxy. I can see it happening, but I won't be able to see Tali anymore. :(

Nope. Happy ending or I shut the whole thing down.

I may not like it...but the pessimist in me says this will happen.

They get to lord it over the peons who aren't manly enough to have one.  Sorta like how I lord things over you.

You're so mean to me.

Play Homeworld and then you may stand as my equal.

Edit:  Junior equal, that is.

Homeworld
Homeworld Cataclysm and
Homeworld 2

Of the three, HW1 has more emotional impact.  Cataclysm is kinda the weaksauce sibling.  And HW2 has the best villain.

Didn't the Homeworld protagonists turn out to be human? (or descendants of humans?)

I don't see Shepard being forced to sacrifice himself to save the galaxy, I foresee ONE of the ending's with him dying if you don't get certain upgrades or complete certain sidequests, hell there could even be an ending where the reapers WIN and eradicate all life in the universe, I foresee a whooolllleeee lotta different endings.

The wind is blowing toward... hold on a sec *puts on fire-suit and picks up riot shield*...the wind is blowing toward most of the team dying.

As long as Garrus and Tali don't die, I'm fine with that.

But if Tali does die and there is no way to change that, then... I don't know.

Really Grif, go trolling somewhere else, you're stupid beyond limits, you never participate in Tali-topics, you always only try to ****** people off. It's annoying.

So what do ya'll think of the concept, not just the darn pics.

Okay, sorry man.

I think the better idea might be go smaller.  I mean, if the Reapers have these big-ass cannons that can wreck dreadnoughts, why waste money on a dreadnought or something of similar size?  The Normandy seems to punch way above its weight due to the Thanix cannon, and is still zippy enough for real evasive maneuvers.  Build more of those, not giant targets.

No, because Star Wars would've sucked if Luke died at the end.

So there.

This isn't Star Wars, though. :P

My point is that a tragedy works best for an isolated story, not a trilogy.

Maybe if the plot had developed in a way where the main character presents in imbalance to the status quo, you can justify killing him off, but that's not the case with Shepard. He's just some guy.

Agreed.  Lots of endings, with a (most likely very easy to obtain,) happy one :wizard:

Discussing ME3 and possible endings.

Also, the only proper name for the dog is Barkspawn.

maybe easy, but it would involve a whooooolllleeee lotta side missions, getting everyones loyalty, obtaining certain upgrades for your ship, or hell even for Shepard, I'm really crossing my fingers for ME3, there's ALOT riding on it, it has the potential to easily be the game of year hands down.
