Maybe if the plot had developed in a way where the main character presents in imbalance to the status quo, you can justify killing him off, but that's not the case with Shepard. He's just some guy.

Yeah I'm sure it would involve doing all side quests and everything, but honestly, who is lazy enough to not do those? I count those as a part of the game, not something that I can skip.
