I believe Patrick Weekes wrote Tali's character in 2.

Which would make a lot of sense. He posts on the forums whenever he has the time to spare. He knew VERY well that he had to do the character justice.

I'm glad he succeeded.

He also dressed up as Jack.

When did that happen?

the first time I did garrus' recruitment mission was one of my best experience in ME2.  Talking to the merc leader and finding inch by inch information about this ''archangel'' (finding out he's a turian, etc etc).  My doubt about him being Garrus builted up as I progressed through the mission until you get the cutscene where you assault the bridge and he snipe the guy just in front of you.  When I saw that armor I was ''OH ****, that is Garrus no friggin doubt about it''  He was my fav character in ME1, was so glad to see him there.

I knew it was Garrus right when he said "turian" Image IPB

And cannecream, that was indeed my reaction lol was like "omg did I just get Garrus killed? What the hell did I do? Load-Last Save-----oooh ok I guess it happens no matter what"

Same here. I was freaking out that I got Garrus killed because I didn't do the renegade interrupt to take out the gunner plane.
Seeing him lying there in a pool of his blue blood, taking that one heavy gasp, I was freaked out.

Still not an easy thing to watch. :?

The animation and voice acting at that point was brilliant.

The way he reaches for his rifle, the way his mandibles flare in pain, how he gurgles, drowning in his own blood...

It was VERY well done.

Nay, Tali's is Drew Karpyshyn's character, and the quarian species as a whole.

Definitely heard Patrick Weekes talk about that in the old ME boards.

Indeed. Look at any other loyalty mission; nearly each one is: get from point A to point B and kill everything along the way. The only acceptations are Samara, Grunt (kinda), and Tali.
And Tali's is the longest of the three.

There's either a lot of people in BioWare who love Tali or one guy REALLY high up the corporate ladder. Either way, I improves our chances of ME3 Tali-ness. <3

It's definitely some of the core people at Bioware.

There's so much love and care crafted into Tali's dialog/missions/etc., it's almost palpable.

. . .Any way we can get Tali a spin-off game? I just can't let ME3 be the end of my favorite quarian.  :crying:

Yeah, Drew wrote Tali in Mass 1.

But I'm sure I heard Weekes say he wrote her in 2.

So it's not a collaborated effort to write each character...interesting. Weekes is an even bigger hero in my eyes now ^_^

And speaking of Tali's loyalty mission, the voice actors? Adam Baldwin, Claudia Black, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Simon Templeman? The other loyalty missions are like...in awe.

I would pay hundreds of dollars for a game in which it's just Shepard and Tali.

I'd much rather see a game where you play as Archangel. It has the best potential for a spinoff game in my opinion. I think it would play very well as a first person shooter. It would be interesting in any event.

Seriously, they went all out for Tali in 2. Not that they had a choice. They would have faced riots if they didn't do her justice.

I'm just impressed that they did such an amazing job, EVERYONE likes that mission, even the vast majority of the non-Talimancing community.
