Shepard: You see these two behind me? This turian and this quarian? I want you to take a good, hard look. These two are my shipmates, my friends, my family. I've fought alongside them, I've bleed alongside them. I've saved their lives and they've saved mine. I'd trust them with a gun to my back at any time. You? I don't know you and don't like you, so if I hear you say one more unkind thing to either one of these two standing behind me, then I promise you that it will be an act you will quickly learn to regret. By insulting my crew, my friends, my family you're also insulting me and trust me when I say this: you do not want to insult me.

Well put, CC.

That's right, Tali.
You give them what-for!

. . .Don't think I'll ever get Tali exiled to see for myself, though. . .

Tali was exiled in my first playthrough I didn't have enough paragon points by that time:crying:

Still, that's manipulative, cruel, and NOT something I'd expect "family" to do, which is what Raan is to Tali, being her "Aunt."

The fact that Raan had to resort to that makes me sick. The fact that she did it makes me even sicker.

I can. . .understand the reasons, but I in no way condone them. <_<

And she's certifiably insane.

What does that say about the Admiralty?

Let's see:

Han'Gerrel: Idiot war monger willing to throw away his life and the lives of his entire species.

Daro'Xen: Psychotic fool who wants to try to re-enslave the geth.

Rael'Zorah: Had no problem torturing living organisms.

Zaal'Korris: The quarian equivalent to Velarn.

Shala'Raan: I honestly don't know what to think about her. She seemed like she wanted to help Tali... but at the same time...

Yeah, they're a real class act... that's for sure.

I understood what Shala had pulled on Tali at the time, primarily because I was already  ****ing furious at the Admiralty for dragging Tali into a trial and then casually informing her that her father might be dead.

Of those assembled, she seemed to be genuinely concerned for Tali's future.

I'm not trying to defend her. I'm just saying that it made sense at the time. If she thinks that will help Tali...

I wasn't there for politics. I wasn't there to kill geth. I was there to make sure Tali got out of this in one piece.

Whatever the Admiral's goal were or are, it didn't matter. I was going to help Tali.

Shala'Raan is the one who pulled the strings to get Tali and Shepard permission to retake the Alarei. She did try to do something.

Agreed.

Still, the Admirals needed to have the business end of a Cain shoved where the sun don't shine, and the trigger held down.

Again. You don't screw with Garrus, and you don't screw with Tali. Bad things should happen to those who do.

VERY bad things.

Ain't life grand?

I kinda liked that, though. There really is no good-guy/ bad-guy here.
Everyone is right for the wrong reasons and everyone is wrong for the right reasons.
It's all shades of grey, like the real world.

She shouldn't have had to. The fact that she did shows how FUBAR the situation was. And she could have said something to Tali at the door. She didn't HAVE to tell Tali about her father in the trial. I seriously doubt even they thought Tali would send back something to INTENTIONALLY kill her father, which is the only purpose withholding that information would have served.

It's already been established the whole trial was absurd.

Tali was the only one with a gun. And unlikely; unless someone screwed up the confrontation.
