Who's the "murderer" here? Jack (a cartoon character) or ya'll who play through multiple times and (apparently) get a character killed off (and like it)?
I don't get the inclination. I played through 3 times trying to minimize casualties, team AND crew. Third time through (with both a loyal Zaeed and Katsumi) I did get through without a single character loss and that is the game result that will get imported into ME3 for me.
First time through (2nd play) with Zaeed I couldn't stand him and wouldn't have cared if he got killed off (I wasn't going to kill off workers to earn his loyalty) but the 3rd play through (2nd time with Zaeed) I got his loyalty without killing workers OR his prime target and from there I grudgingly came to like him (his inferno grenade is quite useful, particularly when you level it up high).
Now Katsumi...woo. I'd like to have her as a much more fleshed out (so to speak) character in ME3.
Be that as it may, I played through each time trying to NOT get anyone killed. After the second time through (and losing Mordin both times in spite of using him differently each time) I came to believe that he was a pre-programmed death but then was pleasantly surprised in the 3rd play to have him NOT take the fatal headshot (no one took it).
So what's with repeated playthroughs and not attempting to save EVERYONE?
I never tried getting people killed. I had thought my first 3 playthroughs It was programmed for at least 2 people to die. So I never bothered changing up the squads I made.
