I'm not sure if there is dialogue to back my theory up, I miss out on the Jack romance dialogue just like everyone else thanks to Tali:wub:.  I just know that she isn't nearly as bad of a person inside as she lets on, and you can tell that given the opportunity to help people, and right her life, she would take that over continuing the status quo.

Hah, same here. When I discovered Tali, the only times I went to speak with Miranda were because of her upgrade and mission.

That's exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about.  There was an easy way to write her and Garrus out:  she returns to Flotilla, he rejoins Spectre training or whatever.  However, the characters really hit it with the fans, so there was no need to drop them and try something different.

True. And as Buddha said Jack has nowhere else to go, either. Thane and Samara are interesting though. Thane is a LI so he's gunna have more of a chance to be in ME3 than Samara..what was Samara's purpose? Now we got Liara who's just like her...except she has singularity...oh, maybe you can have both of them just with different skills?

Agreed, it seems to me that the "easy outs" are only restricted to non-romanceable characters.

I think Bioware's always intended for the 6 LI to come back, as they kind of played their entire hand. With the others, it was just like "Alright, how do you feel about this character? Well, I'll just play the Write-Out card, as we have that option". The six are all possibly to play a big role in ME3, and the only way they won't be back is if they die.

Heh.  She got like that to me.  The next playthrough I closed off her romance by telling her it wasn't going to happen.  Felt a little bad, but it seeme dlike she was okay with that.

Still like her character, and she's my go-to girl for the biotic shield.  It's nice to have her protecting people for a change.

I like Jack too, that's why it's a shame that Paragon = sex. I wonder if I go completely neutral..she'd still ask if you were interested, then they dead-end loophole you into one lame "I'm busy, go talk to your girlfriend" or w/e line.

If you complete Jack's romance, I don't think she'd leave his side until one or the other of them (possibly both?) had stopped breathing.  That's the way she gets.

But like I said, her "What do you think about the mission" dialogue changes after you gain her loyalty.  She stops talking about leaving and starts talking about killing.

Depends on if Tali was placed into the game as fanservice. That said, having a Quarian squadmember get called back was really one of the few logical ways to get there, especially after what went down in Ascension.

Looking at what appears to be the large, overarching story, it was planned out that Tali would return for at least this reason.

They could have always put another turian in there instead of Garrus.  Just like Grunt and Wrex.  The reason they didn't was because there was no reason to.  They had every reason to bring Garrus back.

I still think Tali was always coming back, and the flotilla was the most logical destination for furthering her story.  Fan service doesn't seem like part of it to me.  Its just the most convincing and gripping story they could come up with.

Well, they're trying to sell games and their vision of the game is probably malleable to a certain extent based on that.  If something isn't working, they'd have to fix it.  It turned out to work better than they thought, it what I'm saying.  I'd also like to note that you don't even have to recruit the only turian squaddie in ME1, I think.

I doubt the Flotilla trip was created solely for fanservice.  It seems clear that the quarian/geth thing is one of ME's big subplots.  I think they had an outline of the idea, but it grew into what we see now based on the response to the character.

Edit:  Added emphasis.  Garrus seems like a huge part of the game in hindsight, but I don't think that was necessarily planned.

 Well, since I accidentally fell asleep for 8 hours last night, I'm behind on my artwork quota <_<

I have...no less than five(?) pieces of artwork to finish and two chapters of fanfiction to get done.  Guess I better get started if I want to have any of that done in the next 24 hours
