Shepard paced back and forth in front of his cabin door. This would be the first time that he had ever asked Tali out on a date, and he wanted to make sure he had picked the perfect venue. The Normandy was already docked at the Citadel, and Shepard was anxiously running the option throughs his head before waking Tali and announcing his plans.
We could uhh... go for dinner! There's that noodle hut down on Zakera Ward. Oh, but .... she'd have to eat nutrient paste and watch me eat my meal .... that's no good. He brought a hand to his forehead nervously. He had faced battalions of enemies with a steely confidence, but the thought of disappointing this one Quarian woman had reduced him to a quivering bundle of nerves.
Oh, that's it! We could go to Flux, she loved the music there! he thought to himself.
Oh damn it! I forgot, Doran closed it down for renovations. His palms grew sweaty as his mind raced desperately.
Uhh ..... ummm .... Chora's Den? ...... no she's ..... not a big fan of strippers ....... umm ... the Elcor production of Hamlet?!? .......... Ah, who am I kidding. If she wasn't bored to death with it, I certainly would be. He ran his fingers through his hair, the stress building. Suddenly, he heard the hiss of the cabin door sliding open. He turned to see Tali standing in the open door, stretching sleepily.
"Shepard!" She said warmly. "What are you doing waiting outside?"
"Uhh .... well .... uhhh ...." Shepard stammered. "I was wondering if you'd like to .... ummm ...." His mind whirred, grasping at straws. " .... go for a walk on the Presidium?" He murmured wincingly.
Tali looked him over thoughtfully for a teasing moment before her eyes brightened happily. "Ooo! That sounds perfect!" She squeaked excitedly, as she grabbed his arm and raced into the elevator. With a grin, Shepard released a heavy sigh, and gladly tapped the elevator's controls.
