Tali's already out of character enough to be covered in blood like that. Her suit is nicked, and I even drew her with the hood down. I want some input before I really begin my work.

That interview sounds a little too Al-Jilani-like.
Emily would instead do a "In perspective" with Both Shepard and Tali and ask questions that would both respect and give them a chance to voice their opinions.

Emily : "Tali, many do not think much of the Quarian people, but it is clear that Shepard values you and your help, can you tell us, what is it like working with the first human Spectre?

Tali then starts to say "It all started with... " and we get to see flashbacks from ME1-2 from Tali's perspective, hopefully with Tali's thoughts in blurbs or in some way hear those thoughts starting with "Oh Keelah! Fist betrayed me!" ...then boom! her asailants starts dying and Shepard walking up to her.

Stuff like that.
Of course, Emily will ask the question "Shepard, as one of the most eligible bachelor in the galaxy, I am sure our female fans would like to know what you'd like to see in a woman who would share your life, would you mind sharing?"

Shepard: "Its difficult to pin it on just one thing Emily. Such a woman has to be loyal, she would have stood with me when the rest of the galaxy turned its back on me. She would stand with me even though knowing staying by my side, all she has to look forward to is certain death, she would risk her own life everyday just to be with me. I won't lie Emily, my life isn't one made of a bed of roses, I get shot at, blown up, hell, I was even spaced....*Shepard pauses in thought*...I have already found such a woman. *walks to Tali and takes her hand* I can't ask for a truer friend and she deserves better then what many in this galaxy would give. I only have *tapping his chest* me.

I agree, use a lighter purple, not pure or plain white but in between.

I figured she has it because a knife is a good tool.  It never runs out of power or ammo, and it works better at cutting things than a gun.

I wouldn't want to take on a geth with a knife.  I mean, they look fairly... metallic.  If I had to, I guess I'd try to stick it right in their flashlight face.

I didn't think it sounded Al-Jiliani like at all.  I don't think it's necessarily the subject matter that's offensive when it comes to that woman, it's how she words it.  Emily Wong could touch on the same talking points yet word them more respectfully.
