It's worth noting that most of Shepard's responses in ME1 to Tali's story about the geth indicate a case of "what the hell, hero?" from Shepard to the quarians as a whole. Everything except the most renegade of responses indicate that Shepard thinks the quarians' attempt to shut down the geth were unjustified.
Now, of course, you're welcome to your own opinions, but to me, it was always apparent, even in ME1, that the geth weren't omnicidal robots. And, if I'm reading between the lines correctly, it was at least a possibility in most Shepards' minds.

Poor in comparison. Nothing can stand up to Liz.
I wouldn't go that far, but I do much prefer Liz. Maybe it's because latin based languages tend to be spoken faster and a bit wordier, but the Italian version is lacking a lot of those adorable pauses she makes while talking, that really show off her nervousness.
You have a very good point. The pace of the language just doesn't leave room for those great pauses.
Is it odd that I spent a lot of time yesterday pondering how Khelish actually sounds when spoken without a translator?

mmm actually i can perceive the nervosim pretty well, but yep generally italian characters have less pauses as words and phrases are generally longer so they have to hurry a bit. personally i liked the me1 actress a bit more as she was more in line with Liz interpretation, still i think even the me2 one is actually good

I wasn't being clear: the geth have only begun seeking outside contact two years ago in-game, to find Shepard. One of the first things Legion says is that the geth are open to peace, but Legion is the first geth to reveal this. The quarians generally hate the geth because they were taught to, history taught them, but the geth have changed, they are in fact sorry. No one knew this until Legion told Shepard, that was their first contact.Collider wrote...
Pretty please? I want to know if the Geth had actually ever tried to talk for peace. Maybe I just missed it in Legion's conversation.
Yeah, but no one still knows it except Shepard.
The geth could've sent some unarmed probe to the citadel with a link to the geth collective to communicate peace if they had any interest.
The fact that they didn't say "Whoa, hold on dudes, those guys that attacked you wasn't us... they're just some retards that broke away from the rest of us." after the citadel attack is mind boggling.

I like to think the reason behind that is because the Geth still doesn't really understand how organics would react. or we're just too aliens to them or something, as they are to us.

Khelish?
Khelish is the Quarian language.
Talk to Legion more often, he'll tell you about Khelish and that Rannoch is loosely translated as "Walled Garden" in a more ancient dialect.

The Geth in ME1 were only depicted as omnicidal robots. Literally. And seeing how there is no personal individuality among the Geth, how are people to assume that the Geth aren't all the same, considering how there is no "I," only "we?" Shepard CAN say that he thinks the Geth were only fighting back, but he doesn't have to. It's not only renegade responses, neutral responses also don't say that they were only fighting back.Nivenus wrote...
Geth/quarian discussion more appropriately belongs in the Tali group thread, but just to add my two cents...

Legion does reveal that the only reason they began contact was because Shepard defeated Soveriegn. Also; the geth are aware of their reputation, they know people distrust them, that's why Legion was built and sent alone. Baby steps.sergio71785 wrote...

Which they did, to Shepard. The reason they chose Shepard and not the council, is because... well, the council are idiots for one, they wouldn't believe the geth, and Shepard is unique. Like Legion says, Shepard isn't bound by the hardware limitations of most organics, his code is superior, he is willing to work with Legion, to work with the geth, because he's Shepard. He's special like that. It's likely that the geth realize what Shepard is, what he symbolizes, and if anyone can change the galaxy's mind about the geth, Shepard is the one who can do it. You have to start somewhere, and Shepard is the most logical first stepping stone.

Legion admits that the geth monitor and observe all our transmissions and stuff. So they absolutely know a lot more about us than we do of them. He also specifies that they even did that whole experiment with some religious cult or whatever.

Legion explains that Rannoch is ancient Kelish for Walled Garden.
I doubt it's the quarian's current spoken laguage though, sounds like a root dialect, like latin.

I didn't explain myself correctly, I know that, what I meant is, They're machine, they prolly don't understand how and why organics react to stimulis, they prolly know of us, but to say they understand us would be another entirely different question to me.

Maybe I just don't agree with their process of doing it. If it were my call, I'd send some unarmed probe with a link to the geth collective to let them know. Or hell, send the council a few emails--the geth do have access to the extranet.
Obviously, I don't actually expect them to send them an email, it's just an example. Sending a single mobile platform to talk to the guy that's more used to killing geth than any other in the galaxy just doesn't seem so practical.
