Trust me, I expected that Tali truly loved Shepard, I thought it was pretty obvious. I mean, she's never shown her face to anyone else, never trusted anyone else as much as she has Shepard. I think that screams love. But Kasumi's confirmation is always a nice touch. Still not looking forward to the possible reprecussions in Mass Effect 3, because I romanced Ashley in Mass Effect 1. But if it's as simple as having to chose one over the other, I think I know who everyone is choosing.

Yea, I'm pretty worried. I romanced liara in ME1 and now shes all badass and ball crushing with her mind.
I'm not worried for metagame reasoning. Bioware made the default Shep for ME2 romance Ashley, and there's no way to end the relationship with either Ashley or Liara. Since almost all Sheps that didn't purposely replay ME1 without an LI are locked into a relationship with Ash/Liara, I can't see them making the confrontation that serious. It would be screwing over a huge portion of the fan base.
I expect something similar to ME1's confrontation. They both come up to you, are slightly hostile with the other. You choose one, the other is sad, and doesn't really want to talk to you for the rest of the game.
Yes, but knowing Ashley, she'll probably go on a rant about how Tali is
an alien. She was pretty pissed in Mass Effect 1 if you showed any
interest in Liara. In Mass Effect 2 she admits to having loved you, so
how do you think she'll feel when she realizes that you knew how she
felt and decided to pursue a relationship with an alien? Her head
might just explode from the rage.... Sweet.
