People have different expectations/desires for what Tali will look like.  One large constant though is that all the info we have tends to lean towards a human like appearance.  I don't have a list, but once you get past the obvious differences (eyes, hands, feet, immune system,) most of the info hints at mostly human features.  The designed placeholder face is basically a human face, and Bioware felt comfortable using a human skeleton as a placeholder for a quarian skeleton.  On top of that, Bioware will likely aim to make Tali as attractive as possible, and that means more human features.

For me personally, there are enough differences already that I'm just fine with the rest of her being human-like.  It isn't like they're asari

Tali putting her hands on top of Shepard's as he removes the mask was a touch of brilliance. 

I'd like to talk with the people who made the scene. Basically, I'd want to ask "Are you guys like, super-geniuses, was it an accident how awesome her scene came out, or is it a combination of the two?"

that was my favorite

It's kinda funny to me, but it is a clear signal as to what's going on there.

It also let Bioware establish that Tali has lips (and not Predator tusks...) without having to show her face.

Ok, but would you classify them as embarrassing?  If not then it doesn't apply.  Tyler wants to tattoo a fictional romance character and "N7" on his person.  That can be classified as embarrassing because the average non-RPG gamer would mock him for it.

I would say it is bad because, as a soldier, you are doing some of the things Shepard does.  You and your squad are the heroes, deferring to a video game like that is just wrong.  Idolizing something like that enough to get a tattoo of it on your chest is really, really nerdy.  Other soldiers might pick up on it and mock you for it.

It takes commitment to get a tattoo, to mock someone for that is not high class.

i am waiting till ME3 till i get the Tali one if ME3 is as awsome as i hop it would be then i would get a small Tali tattoo
i show pride in what i am and what i like i LOVE Mass Effect and Tali so to show my pride i get a tattoo
I also love the Navy,Germany.Italy, And USA  and i will get tattoos of those too

I agree, I'm fine with her looking human-like. She's already pretty different with her amino-acid chirality, immune system issue, three digits, etc.

Besides, I think humans are hot.

lol. nearly every soldier i know is a avid gamer. One of them spent a hell lotta money on a Cortana statue
