Reading the last few pages though- Tali and Liara are both basically iconic storybook 'princesses' who need saving from the 'big bad dragon'. Liara is just naive even though ME2 took that down a lot, and Tali has a mysterous sexy to her. Personally though, I like the Quarian race more so than the Asari, even though I think Asari are more attractive. (Asari kind of gets old when ever Asari you meet once was a 'stripper').

Appealing to personal preferences

Tali may not be in your camp, but she is popular with most others. You like someone better, that's fine, no one is forcing you to like Tali.

The poll is pretty vague in that aspect.  I interpreted it as overall attractiveness in general, whereas others apparently see it as physical attractiveness only.

Tali is unbeatable in the former, and at a huge disadvantage in the latter.

You're entitled to your opinion.  I was more meaning that in any poll comparing the personalities of the characters, Tali will not lose.  Its Tali's biggest character strength.

Tali is funny too. More sarcastic sense of humor. Rather enjoy. Both great women. Prefer Tali over Kasumi. However, Kasumi not to be discounted.

Belgian, why do you care? If you don't like Tali, that's fine with us. I also don't think you should care that many people like her. Like whoever you want, don't care about others.

Concur with statement. But personally find quarians more attractive.

Let's dismiss this single word "attractive" that I find vague. Let's distinguish "physically attractive" from "overall appeal". I know there's a better word to use, but I can't think of one.

Tali's personality and superb voice acting along with IMO the best body, I mean, add Tali's storyline and Quarian culture/background and you got the most appealing character in the 'verse.

Ahem. All opinion up there, no need to go spreadin that around

I've seen this question get asked many times.

People who ask it are always looking for one reason that she's liked by many others. Thing is, there isn't any one thing in particular. Some people may like her for one reason, others for another, but overall, she just plain appeals to a broad range of people,  for many different reasons. 

If you don't 'get' why she's so well liked, then she's just not for you, and you should not worry about it.

I'm not a fan of Asari tbh.  Most of them come off as just as fallible as any other race, yet they act superior, and in a way, are, because of their lifespans.  They just get things too easy compared to others like the quarians.

I don't know how they did it, but they managed to make the space-gypsey very popular. Even I was initially surprised by how much I liked Tali in the first game.

And yes, Wrex/Tali combo was my most often used.

Time to bust out my "why does everyone like Tali" template...

Tali has the most fans because she has so many different traits that appeal to different people.  People basically love everything about her personality.  Her appearance is subtly attractive as well.  It isn't in your face, but you definitely notice her figure.  Her voice is great, and Liz Sroka does some great VA work that makes a lot of people like her.  Others like the wrench wench thing.  There are other peripheral reasons as well.

Her personality is the main reason though.

She's nice, yet strong when she needs to be.
She's faced an incredible amount of crap in her life, yet comes out as a positive and open minded person.
She's very loyal (Ash/Liara fail this one,) willing to trust Cerberus, and walk through hell for you.
You feel like the relationship is more advanced than the other ME2 characters since it started in ME1.
Her awkward nervousness around Shep is adorable.
She's willing to risk death to be close to Shep.  That's how much she cares about him.
These are the main ones for me, I'm sure I missed things others like.

More than all, there's really nothing that pushes her away from you.  Ash and Liara's treatment of Shep is a turn off.  Jack is Jack, and Miranda's b*itchiness is a huge turnoff for some.  Tali is just Tali.  The shy true friend that is with you through thick and thin.

The relationship just happens.  Two good friends that develop feelings for each other time.

Just to throw in my two cents on the Kasumi/Tali thing:

Speaking as someone with chronic yellow fever, I still think Tali is tops. While I do like the friendly vibe Kasumi has, Tali's personality is much cuter.
