Zaeed took up a position higher on the slope and started covering the others as they tried to get out of the depression to a more defensible position. As Tali started to climb up past his firing point, she saw a husk rear up behind him, its cable-wrapped arms grasping powerfully for the mercenary's neck.cannedcream wrote...

I need to find a way to steal his powers and make them my own.

Too startled to call out a warning, Tali raised her shotgun and her finger tightened on the trigger. Eyes widening, Zaeed threw himself down, his shields sparkling as he caught the edge of the shot. The husk was smashed aside, shattering as if it was made of glass. Unbalanced, Tali fell back, landing painfully.
Zaeed stood again, looming over her, face contorted with rage as he hefted his rifle one-handed. Tali quailed; he didn't know what had happened!
"Girl, you goddam nearly killed me!" he roared. The mercenary's bleached eye jittered wildly, bloodshot. Free hand reaching down, he roughly pulled her to her feet. "Thanks."

I'm going to give you a run for your money someday, Nuke. I promise you that.
