Why focus on the negative?  I'm sure Tali, and most quarians, are used to the situation.  I'm sure she would be happy just being around people that like her while she eats.

The sad part is just more incentive to get the homeworld back

She can eat the nutrient paste wherever. But anything else would require taking the mask off.

Eating at a restaurant is probably out of the question--restaurants are public places, where many people go, so there'll be tons of germs in the air.

So Grunt talking about "evening meals" means most of the crew do have a group gathering every day. The germs would be in the air so she'd be sitting there eating behind her suit once again.

Yeah, she probably eats alone or with Garrus and Jack and Zaeed

you know... not EVERYTHING has proteins and thus amino acids in them she could eat some of our foods.

I doubt it tastes that bad.  Its probably rather tasteless. 

Who knows, quarians are aliens, maybe they don't even have tastebuds, and eating is only for nutrition for them.

Yeah really.  They make you feel all sympathetic, but don't allow you to do anything.  
And that was one of the more dialogue-filled mini-quests.
