Anyone else hope we don't see Tali's face in ME3?  I think it's one of those "mysteries" best left unsolved.  Everyone has different opinions on what she may look like, and you obviously can't please everyone.  It's the same reason why I think Bungie made the right choice not unmasking Master Chief.  Not every question has to be answered.

Absolutely not.  Master Chief was an avatar of the player, he's Shepard.  Being able to create your own face is equivalent with not seeing MC's.  The player is left to imagine themselves as that character.

Tali is different, she's a character created arbitrarily by Bioware.  Her personality, actions and appearance are all predetermined.  Not seeing it doesn't change the fact that she has one specific face.  On top of that, its a huge disconnect in the role playing aspect of the game.  You can't expect the player to consider himself as Shepard when Shepard knows what Tali looks like and we don't.

There is really no motivation for not revealing her face in ME3.  The opinion that I can gauge from around here is that there will be a lot less people disappointed with what she looks like than there will be people who will be raging over not seeing it.  They've stated that they have the face drawn up already, and this is the end of her story.  Without seeing her face in ME3, Tali will always be an incomplete character.  I want to see her face, regardless of what it looks like, to complete what is by far, my favorite character, and will still be, regardless of what her face looks like.

Wasn't aware of that.  So I guess they will be showing her face.

Still, it's almost hard to imagine the character without a mask.  It's become essential to her character.  Nontheless, anyone want to place bets on what color she'll be?

I'm hoping a dark grey or black, Rannoch's star is more orange and hotter than Sol, so a darker pigment would suit the quarians. Dark grey would figure since they should be quite pale after so many years...

I'm not worried about her face in the slightest bit.

I know two things:

  • Her face is very human-looking. This is basically a fact. No crazy tentacles or whatever.
  • She's not going to be ugly; they're going to try and make her pretty. There's no such thing as ugly females in Mass Effect (or most video games, really, unless it's deliberately a design choice).

It's still just speculation.Posted Image

Technically true, but when all signs point to one explanation (a largely human appearance,) continuing to expect the opposite isn't the logical move.

First two, agree.
I would like Tali to reveal her face. She is my 2nd favorite LI, and when she said she wanted it to be real, and she wanted to share herself with me, I was like "Aww, I get to see her.Posted Image" Then the teased it in the romance scene, and I got mad afterwards.
I would like them to show her face, otherwise this is worse than Master Chief.vPosted Image

I really was not that bothered by not seeing her face. I would like to see it, but that was not why I wanted to romance her.

I agree, I didnt romance her because I got the chance to see her.
But not seeing her was dissapointing. It was a tease.

I'm firmly in the purple camp

Though I should stress that I don't mind any color they go with.

I hear ya. Just speaking from a scientific standpoint. Dark colors would fit, possibly with mildly plated skin like the Turians, to ward off radiation. Grunt remarked on quarians not being "soft". Theory fits Evidence. Form fits Function.

I imagine she would have very pale skin, a dark skintone from a tinted sun really does not apply to three centuries of living aboard a sterile environment with artificial lighting. I'm not sure she should be violet-toned, but seeing all the fanart of Tali witch such the thing really hammered that idea into me.

I am patient enough, though. I will wait for Mass Effect 3.

The Tali fans overwhelm all other fans on the board.  If you're new, you didn't see our 5,500 page thread that was locked a few hours ago.  More than all other character threads combined.  We overwhelm all polls, Tali pretty much has never lost one.  And she's simply the most popular.

There are varying reasons, some people see any other character as an enemy of their favorite, for others its hype backlash (if you're indifferent, and everyone else loves something, the normal reaction seems to be to hate for no reason.)  Others have misconceptions about Tali fans in general.

We're just a collective lightning rod of hate.  I've learned to ignore it all :wizard:

Would africans still be black after 300 years?  It is genetic so yes, they would be.  Genes don't change very much in as little as 300 years.  If at all.

I personally don't think they're a dark color (if that was intended, you'd notice through their mask), but your reasoning isn't correct.

A black person, for example, is black because their genes tell them to produce more skin pigment. They're not black as a result of outside stimuli; it doesn't matter if they're exposed to sun or not.

Yeah. Her fans overwhelm the boards. I dont know HOW she has so many, but she does.
(This is not hate, I just find it unbelievable how many fans she has.)

I could be wrong, but I think we have no plates as canon info.  I've always thought it was more likely that Grunt was referring to the suits, not skin/bone density.  All of his info is implanted from Okeer.  And Okeer isn't stupid, he wouldn't waste his time programming in fight data for an out of suit quarian, since there's no way that Grunt would fight one.

Honestly, I'm clueless on the science perspective, I just know that our details are vague enough that Bioware can scientifically explain any color they want.

That's under the assumption that they have dark-skin to begin with. Though applying biological rules of something from Earth may not necesarrily apply to aliens.

When you're playing a renegade Shepard in ME1 and refuse to give Tali that data, does she refuse to talk to you the entire game? Also, is there a "renegade path" to Tali's romance, like there is with Miranda and Jack?

Guys, would you explian to me how can Tali have such enormous thread(s)? I was trying to figure out but I can't. I came up with a couple of thing, like, she doesn't have a face, what helps people thinking her as they like. Also, she needs Shepard more than anyone, you really feel like her protector, that would help too. Maybe her voice? I don't know, if I knew I wouldn't be asking.

.

Anyway,I'm sure you get a lot of trolling around here but I'm just asking. Let's try to keep it civil as long as possible.
