She can't even do something as simple as eating at a restaurant (anything beyond paste would require removing the mask, and a public place would have a plethora of germs)

I can see your point, but I feel like it would lose its appeal after a while. Its nice in the beginning that every intimate moment you can spend together is precious. But once that becomes routine, the combination of routine and danger isn't very appealing.
If the relationship endures the hardships enough to get to a point where Tali could live a normal life, that seems to be enduring a good amount. At that point, it seems like it would be tougher to adjust to a whole new dynamic, rather than continuing with the whole (at this point routine,) immune system hindrance.
If the relationship is able to survive what we know now, there's really no reason to suspect that they wouldn't still care about each other without the obstacles. It would just be nice for Tali to be able to experience those things she laments on her loyalty mission (smelling a flower, a simple kiss without risk.)
That's just it though?
Picking up a brick and moving it easy.
Picking up and moving that brick for days or weeks on end is extremely hard.
The greatest test of all is time. If it can survive time, it can endure anything, which is why it appeals to me.
Fair enough.
I do wonder how far we'll actually get to see the story extended in ME3. I can't really see a '5 years later' epilogue, but I also really hope it doesn't end with the defeat of the bad guys (like ME2.)

I hope it has the range of endings that DAO had, and then some.
That... would be great.

Well I have to be up in 2 hours, so should probably get to bed now. I'm going to have to keep in mind to reference pages 25-40 next time someone says that its impossible to have on topic intelligent discussion in this thread.
Good night/morning all
Ha, funny, that's about the time I showed up.
Ahem.
Seriously though, I haven't had a conversation in a Tali thread since Tali Love 2 back on the old forums, many moons ago. Back then we were still speculating on whether or not Tali was gonna even be a love interest... good times.

I gave a biologist's breakdown of quarian immune systems...
Some of us are waiting for the Kasumi DLC to show up.
Some of use were sharing thoughts of what Tali's skin pigment might be.
It's been nice and chill.
