Smart business says go with Tali though

I'd respect that decision very much, and I don't even mean that as a fan of Tali.

The most "mainstream" thing in a movie would be for Shepard to go for an attractive human female. It just plain sells more. It's why Miranda's image got plastered all over ME2's marketting; it's just plain good marketing.

However, I think having the protagonist go for the mysterious, completely covered alien would be a far more "gutsy" thing to do. Thus, worthy of some respect.

That would be true if we were talking about the video game crowd, but this is movies.  Everyone and their mom can watch a movie, and not everyone and their mom has the class to see it that way.  It would be a poor move to have Shepard fall for an alien with no face, the movie crowd far outnumber the video game crowd.

Now if the makers of the movie had only the video game crowd targeted as their demographic, then having Shepard romance Tali might work.  Other than that though it just wouldn't.

The type of relationship that the Tali one is is a "feel good" relationship, audiences like that

Yeah, audiences do like that. But producers don't care about what audiences like. They care about how much audience they get.

Now, there is a lot of overlap between "happy audience" and "number of tickets sold", but they don't necessarily go hand-in-hand. If a sucky movie manages to attract a large audience, it doesn't matter if the audience is happy with it or not; they've already paid.

On the other hand, a less marketable--but better--film may not attract so many viewers initially, but it could build momentum and eventually make good cash, especially when it's released to home video. But that is a gamble, to an extent.

Producers and executives generally prefer not to gamble; they like to go with what's safe, what they know will make some money.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but It's just plain more likely that an ME movie would go for what's more marketable. Nearly all video game movies suck for that reason--they go for what's marketable; they generally only exist to exploit the popularity of the IP.

She acts like a fangirl to Shep. And while some may find it cute and sweet, others don't. Me, I find it cute at times and annoying at others. She is immature in the fact that she is willing to risk certain death just to make love to Shep, and her decision of going through exile for her dead father's sake. If Shepard was a real man and not a user-based pixel, he would have said no to Tali, he wouldn't want her to risk it, even for love.

Of course, this is my opinion. Regardless of your opinion of my trolling, or your opinion of me, I'm proud of you, Goat. Be careful. The world of Shipping Wars is dangerous.

First of all, EVERYONE is a fan of Shepard. The ones that don't, pay for it

And certain death? Commaaaan. Comaaaaan :P It's a good love story and you know it.

Ignore him. Some people are too busy wallowing in bitterness that they can't possibly recognize emotion when they see it.

Bitterness...THIS IS-wait, nevermind. Well Mister Synthetic, I fail to see how emotion has anything to do with the TaliXShep pairing. Personally, having sex before a mission in any military is a taboo. Not to menttion that Tali was practically drugged when they did it. It's Tali fans like you that cost me more than an arm and a leg. Tali and Shep are not turians, they shoildn't be testing reach and flexibility before a mission. Doing the tango can cloud one's judgement.

Yes because two years of loneliness for Tali and death for Shepard couldn't possibly be enough to let them confess their feelings for one another, feelings they both have had since the beginning. As for sex, well, isnt that the logical direction these kinds of things go towards? You can't blaim them for wanting to live without regrets. They ****ed up once by not voicing those feelings before. Now that they have a chance at a relationship, you have the nerve to call it a taboo?

A problem. Shep is a user-defined character. If the user plays as an ass, he has feelinngs for no one. If he likes Tali, the user must also like Tali. SHepard has no pre-defined self. He is dough. And to me, sex is just another stupid activity spawned by human instinct. I myself never find the need to relese my seed.:bandit:

I would literally pay admission to a movie just to see Tali as the LI, even though I'm pretty much against the idea of a movie in the first place.

That said, and keeping in mind my love for Tali, I'd have to disagree. Smart business says go with no LI. I mean, if you're absolutely forced to put an LI in it, than ya, Tali would most definitely have the largest fanbase, and would be the best bet. But you'd also completely alienate the entire rest of the Mass Effect fanbase, which Bioware would avoid at all costs. So the best decision would prolly be to have no definitive LI, but maybe have Shep flirt with all of them individually or something, just to pay a little fan service.

Still, a movie with a Tali/Shep romance plot? I'm buying the ticket and the dvd:wub: and the blueray, and I don't even have a blueray player

If it's anything like the Blur trailer, I'd be happy.

Good. Yourself?

Quite well now that the power is back on. Wind knocked down a tree that took out the power lines and blew a transformer by my house. I was walking right by it too.

Fortunate were not hit. Glad that power back on.

I think Tali as Li in the movie would go well
people would like her character
She is a good female role model, unlike the others
She is strong, but vulnerable when she needs to be
She has weaknesses, and doesn't pretend she doesn't
Her backstory and the story of her love for shepard are very d'awww inducing

You can think that, but I think Tali would be popular with the wider community

remember gamers are normal people too, there is a pretty good demographic spread in this community as much as any other
