If Shepard is smart, he'll wear a suit when he reaches the surface. Have to keep the environment as natural as possible while the Quarians acclimate.

Yeah but the conundrum there is Shep would have already been able to kiss her multiple times if the mask wasn't there, and she probably wouldn't get so close to your face in the first place.  That scene symbolizes the last obstacle in their relationship, after they've gotten over the other hurdles of a cross species relationship.  It would kind of cheapen things if the last obstacle to the romance was telling her that you like her.

I'm fine with the way it is, not being able to kiss her until the romance scene.  Makes the quarian pounce that much more meaningful

I see you forgot the convenient plot device that will let the quarians readjust to their homeworld in a short amount of time.  I don't know what it will be, there will be one.  I'll make sure of that

Getting to Rannoch is more than just about helping Tali. It's about helping a people that the galaxy has been treating like **** for the past three hundred years. Could you imagine going to bed at night terrified that your child might be killed by a random piece of bacteria?
