Something about that outfit seemed like a joke to me. It was so different from his original colors. He changed his lights from a neutral white to a glaring red and changed his secondary colors from accents of white and red to dark colors (if memory serves) and changed his main color from a dark blue to a bright White. He looks too much like a punk wearing conflicting colors. Just my impression though.

The quarians are quite insular, so it might be very strange and even unwelcome for an alien to be with one of them, especially with Tali, who is renowned by her people. Also Shepard is still technically part of Cerberus, a hostile organization, not even heroes can slip past working for terrorists. And the fact that Shepard is on a high-risk mission, Tali is constantly put in danger and can even be killed.Phil725 wrote...
I still think he would approve. Above all, he loves Tali and wants her to be happy. He doesn't normally know how to show it, but I feel like this is the one time he wouldn't screw it up.
There's the obvious trepidation with the whole no one's good enough for daddy's little girl thing, but I don't think he would have any more hesitation with Shepard than any random quarian. I mean, what's there to not like about Shepard? Galactic hero, killed the most geth in the galaxy, loves Tali completely. What more could you want?
There's really no other reason than extreme xenophobia that he would prefer an average quarian over Shep. And xenophobia doesn't seem to be a quarian constant (outside the geth.)
I doubt Rael would welcome Shepard.
They're insular, but they don't seem to openly distrust or hate other races. And especially not Shepard, who has likely endeared himself to them greatly with defeating the geth at the Citadel, Legion's loyalty, and the Alerei.
The Cerberus thing doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Tali is with you the whole time, and can verify that your activities aren't in line with the rest of Cerberus. If they won't listen to you telling them that, they would have to listen to her. No one really seems to care during Tali's loyalty mission either, that may be a game limitation, but still. On top of that, you're not working for them anymore after the collectors are down.
Again, there's a difference between welcoming and accepting. I think you're right that Rael wouldn't welcome Shepard, but after seeing the two's feelings for each others, and Shep's good intentions, I don't see any way a loving father tries to stop that.

True, most of the fighting is still up to the player, but I learned how to optimize my squadmates. I noticed that anyone using a sniper rfile typically hangs back to kill from afar, as they should be doing. Those with a shotgun fight very aggressively, jumping over cover to close distance quickly and blow enemies away. If you just command them to do specific things, they can actually be extremely helpful with guns alone.GuardianAngel470 wrote...
It only matters who you have with you on hardcore while they are alive. I played plenty of parts on my own, killing dozens of bad guys because they had advanced over my team or my team had been over aggressive and charged in and gotten themselves killed.
It really made me realize that Shepard is more than who he brings with him. He can get the job done on his own, but having a team makes it easier.

Watching this I just noticed something about the default Shep that has been bothering me for a long time. You see, I was always under the impression tht the default Shep looked older than he is meant to, which is twenty nine. I think this could be easily rectified if he got rid of the DAMN MUSTACHE.

Rael loves his daughter. This is a given. However, his way of showing it is to try to strengthen the Flotilla. To this end, his last message to his daughter is not "stay safe, I love you," but rather "make sure the admirals get this data!"
I posit that Rael has at some point lost sight of how love for someone is supposed to include them, not ignore them for their own good.
I try to keep this in mind when speculating about what he'd do.

Yeah, I've found that Cloaking is good for more than just headshots. I typically cloak upon entering a room in order to tell my squad where to go before the enemy sees me. It is kinda annoying that I have to tell them where to go or else they will die, but whatever.

No wai, light facial hair is the way to go!
But it does add some age. I've had some facial hair for a great many years. I remember like 4-5 years ago I was at the hospital with my dad, and three seperate people asked if I was his brother.
My dad was was 38 when I was born, and I was like 20 years old when that happened. <_<

They place a very high value over kinship, that's why quarians stick out for each other more than most other races. the problem is that Shepard is and always will be an outsider to them, he may be lauded for his work agains the geth, but he is still not one of them, that's why I doubt that Rael would really approve.Phil725 wrote...

When I was seventeen, my mother and I went to Vegas. At the time, I had grown a light goatee. Every single person in that entire city thought I was her boyfriend.

I agree with Azint. Rael may respect shepard but because he isn't quarian he would see him as an outsider. Whereas the women of the galaxy would die to be at shepard's arm (or so it seems) the opinion of the galaxy is meaningless to the quarians. I think the only time he would approve is when I tell them they get their planets back after they sign the peace treaty with the geth.

I wouldn't grow facial hair at this age. Too young to grow an epic mustache, for another time.sergio71785 wrote...
