Tali is 24 in ME2.  Hardly a kid.  I'm sure you're well aware that Tali's relationship is hardly a one night stand as well.  She clearly develops very strong feelings for you over the relationship, and there is a strong foundation for a future relationship.  Being with Shepard at all is risking death for Tali.  That isn't anything that she would take lightly.

I do like Jack, so I can understand preferring her over Tali though.

I'll argue on Jack's behalf.  That relationship seems very deep compared to Miranda's.  I still put it behind Tali's, but she is clearly a different person by the end of the relationship.  Her unstable personality is a result of having one of the worst possible lives up until that point.  Everyone in her life has tried to exploit her in some way, and she isn't willing to let her guard down easily.  When she does, you can see into the vulnerable person that she really is, and Shepard is there to comfort her.  That seems like it could be a very interesting relationship over time as she becomes more comfortable in normal conditions.

Miranda's is the one that just goes back to the ME1 romance arc of; I'm here, you're here, lets have sex.

Honestly, I haven't looked at anything having to do with the Miranda romance in months.  I don't recall anything deep and loving about it, but I'll take your word for it.

If you all remember what Kelly says about Tali. I don;t remember the exact words but it's along the lines of. "Tali really likes you. It's evident every time you want in the room, the way she turns to you, the way she acts around you, she really likes you."



Not to mention how she goes out of her way to find a way to be with Sheppard. That's the furthest thing from a one-night stand imo.



It'd be cool to see a long-lasting relationship come out of it in ME3 if you romanced Tali in ME2. I have a feeling Tali and the Quarrians along with the Geth are going to play a large part in ME3. (Provided you didn't get her exiled from the fleet)

ok you got me there but you can literally one night stand her via the renegade option but then the relationship doesnt really go anywhere.

There's huge support for a long term relationship in ME3, and given the evidence we have so far, most recently being Kasumi's line about how much Tali loves you, I think its clear that will start out as a strong relationship in ME3, unless there's some ME2 like beginning.  Tali's relationship is all about trust.  You're the only person in her life that is always there for her, and coincidentally, with Ash/Liara bailing on you, she's the only girl that's been there for you all along.  There is an incredibly strong relationship between them, and frankly, I'll be very disappointed if Bioware doesn't advance the relationship very far in ME3.

I do see the quarians and geth as a major plot point in ME3, although I don't see Tali being exiled having any real effect.  She will still try and help the fleet, and they'll let her back once we find a way for them to reclaim the homeworld

Oh yeah, that's completely different.  That's Jack testing to see if you're just like everyone else in her life, just being nice to her to get something from her, the only way she really knows how.  If you fail that test, she rightfully writes you off as just another jerk, and wants nothing else to do with you.  That's a one night stand, but I definitely wouldn't call it a romance, just taking advantage of someone emotionally damaged.
