Seems I finally got around to writing more, so here is a preview of my next chapter. First chapter is in blog if you haven't read it.  Edit: WHY DOES THIS FORUM SCREW WITH FORMATTING!?

Shepard
looked at the bag in his hands. He had gone shopping with Tali
earlier. She complained that while Shepard knew so much about Quarian
culture and had even been on her birth ship, she knew next to nothing
about Earth. He suggested they go to the Shin-Akiba district of
Zakera ward, which was heavily influenced by Japanese culture. They
were passing an antique shop when Shepard spotted Kasumi in the
shadow of a nearby ally. He reached for Tali, who's attention was on
a shining Katana in the window of the shop, when he saw Kasumi
gesture for him to stop with a finger drawn across her throat. He
shot her a puzzled look as she then mouthed the words “Need to talk
in private” and disappeared into the ally. Well I can't just
ignore her he thought.

“HeyTali why don't you go ahead to Flux without me, just remembered I
need to grab something off the ship.”

“Alright, see you there. Don't take too long.” She replied and squeezed his
hand affectionately before heading to the nearest transport station.
Shepard headed for the ally when she was gone.

“So what is this about Kasumi?” he greeted when he spotted her.

“What's the date?”

“What?

“What day is it Commander?”

“Cycle 376 I guess? Is this really that important?”

“No, back on Earth silly. It's February fourteenth, Valentines day. Here
take this.” Kasumi smiled widely as she handed him a bag.

“What is it?” Shepard said as he peered curiously into it. It seemed to
have a length of emerald coloured cloth in it.

“A sash. Imported from Japan, real silk. Should be exactly the same
dimensions as the wrapping Tali's wearing, if my eyes aren't failing
me. Give it to her.” she suggested.

“Oh. Wow thanks.” He reached into the bag and ran his fingers over it.
“Damn, this thing must have cost a fortune if it's real silk.” He
was about to ask how much she payed for it when he remembered her
status as the galaxy's best thief and let out a small chuckle.

“See you at the club Shep. Don't give it to her until I'm there. I want to
see her reaction” she said enthusiastically as she left Shepard
alone in the ally.
