A scarred face... and uniform full of medals... Shepard salutes him and calls him "sir", but Hackett is humble, and says that Shepard is the biggest GODDAMN hero this universe has ever seen, and that he doesn't need to call him "sir".

I didn't really like the way that the Alliance kind of jerks Shepard around in ME 1.  It would be interesting to see how that played out.  Shepard is definitely bigger than the Alliance and bigger than Cerberus now.

Topic is for a different thread, but I've often wondered who Shepard will work for in ME3... if anyone... or if it may change depending on whether he is Paragon or Renegade...

Yes, OT, but gotta speculate that "who Shepard will work for" thing. I've thought about it a lot, too. Personally I would love it, if you could decide who you side with... You could go with TIM, or with the Alliance, or with the Council (ewww), or you could be a badass, and say "From now on, I'm doing things my way", and you would gather an army around you... The Quarians, the Krogan...

Yeah... for me it's basically Alliance only, out of those three. Cerberus is renegade, and Council just makes me rage. I hate those douchebags. <_<

Could be putting or taking off. Would suspect putting on considering alternate picture. Was inspired by minific:
