True. There is already an ad on Illium about some company that has a 40% success rate at allowing Quarians and Volus to live outside their suits on any world.

I have a feeling that it's mostly bullsh!t.

I mean, how do you change a Volus from breathing ammonia to breathing oxygen?

Sh!t don't add up.

sure it does, the 60% that doesnt work is the dead volus

In all fairness they didn't try to destroy the flotilla, just one ship.

And the justification for it in the book is on the level of cartoonish evil, which I can't stand.

ok now consider this. they may have 50000 ships but, how many of them are for combat? How many ships house non-combatants?

I'm not saying it wouldn't be an incredibly bloody fight.  I could very well break down and cry for a few hours after.

But it wouldn't be the end of the fleet.  Many quarian civilian ships are armed (even combat-ready), and they have hundreds of dedicated warships to protect those.

They also have 17 million people compared to who knows how many
geth.  (I assume the number has to be huge given how fast the geth seem
to be able to add numbers,) and the quarians have nowhere to hide
civilians.  They just can't afford a war.  All of their army is built for defense against slavers and other threats of the Terminus systems.  They aren't equipped for all out war like turians and humans.

Which is why they would probably, if up against too large of an enemy, keep the enemies engaged with their warships while the rest of the flotilla retreats.

But now we have half of this largest fleet in the galaxy not participating in the battle at all.  If the war ships can't defeat the geth army, what good is having the rest retreat?  Travel is very quick in the ME universe.  The geth could hunt down the weak ships and just pick them off without trouble.

Exibit A, ladies and gentlemen:

That one world that the quarians had intended to colonize. It was a backwater piece of trash rock, but the elcor said they wanted it. So, the Council, being complete dicks, threatened the quarians with extinction if they did not vacate the planet's surface.

What !? How did i miss that , stuff like this makes Cerberus sound like a good idea(as long as i can convince them to be nice to the quarians)

Damn, i think i'm going to the dark side

Cerberus also tried to destroy the Flotilla. Do not fall for their rhetoric. Cerberus is not humanity. It is a deformation of everything that makes humanity great.

Their goal wasn't to destroy the flotilla, they simply attacked the flotilla to get something they wanted.  Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but there's some difference

Beat me to it :wizard:, what i originally meant was that this crap put the council very high on my hit list, if Cerberus helps take them out i'm happy, but for now all i can do is go back to ME1 and kill those bastards

They can make it to Citadel space.
A Geth army on the move would be viewed as a threat by nearly all organics.  They'd be pretty much be guaranteed support (even if blamed by some for bringing the Geth out).

We're really getting deep into this game of what-ifs.

I'm with you, I'll be very disappointed if we're working with the council/Alliance or Cerberus in ME3.  Both sides are bad in their own way, and neither can do anything really to help you at this point.

Shepard has become something greater than either of them. He is his own banner. A call to arms from him would reach across the galaxy.
