I too had a moment where it just sort of clicked. A defining sort of moment, and you realize, "I'm better than this", and you know, that when you walk away, it's because you aren't weak, it's because were strong enough to do so.

It's... enlightening.

I rarely experience that because I scarcely involve myself in matters for that to happen. I choose my confrontations, something many should learn to do.

Unfortunately, sometimes the confrontations choose you.

Growing up on the streets of Vegas teaches you that REAL fast.

But you can either let it suck you down, or you can stand up and say "**** YOU" to all the gangs and ****s, and accept that nothing they do to you could be worse than you letting them rule your life.

It was a lesson taught by Jesus, John Locke, and Ghandi. Sans the "**** you" part I'm sure. But still.

Note the "I rarely" part. It happens, and the best you can do is react in what you think will work. But some people have less than rational first thoughts.

I'm not religous at all. But he had several lessons I valued and admired. And I don't know enough about the man to judge him, but some of the ideals and lessons taught are worthwhile.

I'll leave it at that. Don't mean to start a topic on religion. Never ends well.
