Most of the Normandy SR1 can only be reached by stairs. Not handicapped-accessible.

I still wouldn't say whiny.
Sure, they may all ask for Shep's help at one point or another.  But he's asking them to march into almost certain death for him.  I think he owes it to them to help tie up the loose ends of their lives. 
And they all have legitimate problems.

Hey, don't all be hating on me now! I never actually agreed with Acrian that the squad was whiny. I'd just removed Tali from his post. I don't think the crew was whiny at all. They had problems that needed to be dealt with

If you would say that Tali was 'obnoxious' and 'whiny'(See, I put ' around the words now), every squadmember is. That's why I edited it .

Would've been funny though, having a squadmember that didn't have any problems whatsoever. That will just join you and be loyal, no strings attached.
