I'm not sure your position. Are you saying you'd rather those resources go into the main story rather than the romance? They already put a lot of effort into the romances, hell, all of the romances in ME2 were unique with their own pre-suicide mission scene. Putting in some extra effort for the conclusion of romances that have been developing for two to three games seems fitting to me.
That's what I am saying. The romance in Mass Effect was so arbitrary and unfulfilling because they were all so parallel to one another. I hated that. While the romance in ME2 was shortened, the way each romance was written made up for the length. Each character had something unique to their romance, they actually seem like something more than just a character in a game. But if they do too much of it in ME3, it may seem like the point of the game was to find love rather than save the galaxy. And that is
not what Mass Effect it about, romance is a feature, not the plot.
