Nooooo.... Only Shepard can romance Tali. I'm sorry to say this, but David had his chance to have some quarian love taken away from him. :(

I'm not sure I liked the final result....  I wanted final revenge too.  For what was taken and how it was taken.

Riptide said it best: (quote from ealier last night)

What Riener did was as bad, if not worse, than raping a child. Humans
can have at eachother whenever they want for the most part. With
quarians, it's different. You have to prepare, you have to plan ahead,
you have to trust somebody so much, have to love them so much, that
feeling their skin means you're willing to die to do it. Any
relationship with a quarian would be hard, and you have to hope, and
pray, that at the end, after all your hard work, you'll see something
for your efforts. To share something beautiful, and surreal, and
spectacular with someone you're willing to DIE for.

Then, you
have someone who comes along, throws all that by the wayside, taking
what that person and her lover worked so hard and so long for to
achieve, and just... takes it. And takes it. And takes it. Until there's
nothing left but slow death, pain, and an endless stream of tears for
someone the world won't even miss.

hugging Tali would be sweet. Arms wrapping around her back, having her hood sensually rub against your face as she puts her head into the crook of your neck, feeling her light breathing, the subtle purr expelled from her mask as she exhales and squeezes you harder showing her love

I know, what Rip said was touching and so true.
But I liked how CC handled the end. The real world doesn't have the ULB-button to make problems go away. And Reiner sure did deserve something more, but as Tali did say; "life isn't about what we deserve".

Read it when you have a spare 20 minutes or so.  It is worth it and it puts the picture inperspective.  The story is one of the best Tali-fics ever.

I CAN'T READ!

*runs away*

Well......then read Cannedcream's  "Borrowed Time" instead, it is just as good and it doesn't have a sad ending and it is only 1/4 as long.

You know what else would be sweet? Seeing your fanfic to continue. After reading something like Angel of Death or Drifting or Borrowed Time, your fanfics always can cure those mental scars. ^_^

I think it's also true that Tali still seems renegade when you choose renegade options on the Alarei. It's been awhile so I forget details, but neutral seemed the only way to go where she wasn't snappy. It was a...terrible mission for me emotionally, even worse than Tali.

Yeah, the renegade options are what she wants to hear (you'll get your homeworld back, your dad loves you, etc.), the paragon options are the truth.
I say take the renegade options, she isn't going to turn into some war-mongering idiot like Han'Gerrel because you tell her she might be able to get the homeworld back and should want to, too. Those are just some words of comfort.
(Oh, but you should definitely pick the paragon option regarding the geth war at the trial, you don't actually want war, do you?)

Aside from that, Tali's a bit of a paragade, usually leaning towards the paragon side, but taking the occasional, and well-deserved renegade decision, just like my main Shep! ^_^

I love how emotionally she responds to almost any of your comments on her loyalty mission. I'm constantly saving and reloading to hear what she says. In the end I think I mostly choose Renegade responses although I may replay that mission and make a dialog tree or something.

After the trial I never tell the Quarians whether or not to go to war with the geth. I just tell them that I defended Tali because she's MY crew. Honestly I don't think Shepard is well informed enough to make such a suggestion anyways, beyond needing the quarians (and the Geth) to fight the Reapers.

....I know, she is right...but it doesn't make it any easier for me to digest.  Rin and David deserrved so much more and they would have been happy to just hang out on Tilla.  Life isn't about what we deserve, but at least I can be happy that Tali got better...she got Shepard.

Nor to me, as they really deserved something better and I'm such a sucker for happy endings. But to me, in the end nothing would have made things easier or better or made him happier. He had already lost her. Not justice, not revenge.

Maybe only death, which he seemed to be waiting.

I agree  :(

I should seriously save these conversations to inspire fanfic and artwork...they are worth their virtual weight in gold.

But now I am off to do homework.  Hopfully I can finish it before 5 so I can go back to bringing David and Rin to life.

until then - Keelah Se'lai gentlemen...Keelah Se'lai

I use the paragon responses.  I can't promise anyone (even her) a war for a single planet.  I also prefer to avoid the goals that got her father into trouble.

I'm torn on that one, too.  I feel like I should be cautioning against war, but love the "I was defending one of mine" line.  The game doesn't seem to care which you select (the random quarian dialogues are the same) so I hope there aren't any reprecussions down the line.

Dialogue tree would be interesting. I also pause at that point during the trial as to whether they should go to war or not. My canon didn't give an opinion either, for the same reason you suggested. Shepard scorns the Board for hampering Tali with their arguments about the war, so talking about the war giving opinions seems out of place on top of the fact he isn't well informed.

I was happy to exonerate one of my people and get the hell out of that mess.

Heh. Well I don't know how accurately I can answer to your question, but I took some screenshots from Omega.
And while it takes place in one of those central "towers", there seems to be much of the asteroid's rock surface showing in few spots.

Hm, ran into minor difficulty, soon uploading them.

But Tali's response to those paragon options is heartbreaking. Going through the Alarei twice as Paragon and Renegade I just felt sick to my stomach. I love and hate that loyalty mission :(

The first time I went through that mission I genuinely thought I'd screwed that dialogue up bigtime, but didn't have a recent save so I just rolled with it.

Life is heartbreaking sometimes.  She deserves the truth.  She also deserves better than having her father's dream foisted on her one more time.

Indeed, I did too. Neutral "let's keep moving" is a cop out I've taken since experimenting with the extremes.

Is the Renegade option only implying you take the homeworld by force? Cuz when I say "you'll get your homeworld back" my mindset it on peace, quite different from Rael's plan, but Tali probably doesn't know that.

FFFFUUUU

Needless to say I don't exactly look forward to that loyalty mission at all. The talk about quarians in bubbles is all I try to think about, it helps very little.

But it would be pretty stupid if the Admiralty Board decides to go to war or view their alternatives based on what you say to them at the end. I can hardly believe they are that easily manipulated.

I think the actual line is something like "That's a worthy promise"  Maybe it's followed by "one I intend to keep" but I'm not sure.  I've only used it once.

Considering where in the game this happens, it's not likely Shep knows about Legion and the heretic/true geth.  It's also the renegade option, so I can't imagine the intent being peaceful.

The bubbles thing bothers me, actually.  Infants need skin/skin contact.  The situation for quarian babies is pretty damn grim, if you ask me.

Huh.  The one near Harrot's seems to maybe suggest exterior windows, but the rest seem pretty clear that the area is some kind of enormous internal chamber.
