Wait, I thought they didn't use bubbles on infants. Tali (or Shala, I forget) said it was the intermediary step between nursing and getting a suit at adolescence. Maybe -hopefully- Quarians probably get all that skin-to-skin contact in before the bubble.
Bubbles, I guess, would be the first step in quarian kindergarten or something. Hey, here's a challenge: picture Tali in kindergarten and try not to d'awww.
I've already been down that road, so I'm a little resistant against it, but it still brings warm feelings and happy thoughts.

Imagine having a hundred of those things aimed at a mass relay as the Reapers arive. Blow them all into pieces too small to fit into a matchbox.
It'd save a lot of quarian ships.

I'm sure that visual contact and and interaction substitutes to a certain extent. But it's much easier to calm an infant with direct contact.
As for how messed up an infant can get without proper stimulus/interaction? Well, experimenting with humans would be unethical, but here's the famous study with monkeys. It starts getting horrific in the "isolation" part.
Indeed. This one wonders why quarians are not mentally unstable and failures at life in general. They are the opposite, it seems, they adapt.
Wait, I thought they didn't use bubbles on infants. Tali (or Shala, I forget) said it was the intermediary step between nursing and getting a suit at adolescence. Maybe -hopefully- Quarians probably get all that skin-to-skin contact in before the bubble.

*Tali walks up to her father in the bubble as he's working at his desk*
Tali: Daddy... I made this for you today in kindergarten...
Rael: Not right now Tali. I'm working. Go show your mother.
Tali: Oh... okay. I love you daddy.
*Rael continues to click away at his console, engrossed in the defense plans for the impending slaver attack. Tali goes to show her mother the capacitor she built with scraps, small tears rolling down her tiny cheeks.*

Indeed there probably are. But given the circumstances, I'm surprised quarians exist at all.
I'm serious. After the flight from Rannoch, they'd all slowly die out in 50 years. You can't face that devistation and lifestyle change and hope to survive by yourself in the universe. 300 years later, though.

The initial modifiers don't really matter, so I don't think any of them have any real paragon/renegade flavor. It's just as easy to be a kid from the street trying to make good as it is to be an arrogant spacer always looking down on the ground-crawling insects.Thelacan wrote...

Simple. They used some of their own people as bait. Sent out a signal the Reaper could easily pick up and follow, and when it thought it was the easy catch of the day...*BANG* Dead.

Idk, you could swap Earthborn with Colonist. Earthborn grew up in gangs, that means he made that renegade choice somewhere down the line of his life. Colonist is mentally scarred as a victim, so he could either use his anger for good or evil. Earthborn can do good, too, but he started out as a renegade. Spacer is a spartan blah blah.

Unless used with Colonist background.
Then they're just desperate for revenge.
One of my favorite Shepards is a Colonist Ruthless Vangaurd Femshep. She's a renegon, who does all the wrong things, for all the right reasons, and hates that she can't do better. Quite tragic really.

I know. But when compared in ME2 the renegade is totally alien hating, pro-cerberus type. I just see it would be more realistic, that when in your teens, your whole colony and family gets slaughtered by aliens, you'd develop some kind of attitude against aliens.
