Wow, that's like... a sack of sugar rolled in sugar lol

Also, read the fic and commented Jones. Will say again, though, well done. Think you pulled off the whole process of dealing with the past nicely.

Pretty damned simple, don't sound like Rael; if you suspect you sound like Rael, stay away from the man asking you to say the following aloud "Tali, if you are listening, then I am dead. The geth have gone active. I don't have much time.".
Also, don't openly oppose Tali or support any of the other LIs, you'll be fine.

And in case you don't want a lecture, don't ask what that helmeted woman with a hood and glowing eyes on my shirt is.

*Tali walks up to her father in the bubble as he's working at his desk*

Tali: Daddy... I made this for you today in kindergarten...

Rael: Not right now Tali. I'm working. Go show your mother.

Tali: Oh... okay. I love you daddy.

*Rael continues to click away at his console, engrossed in the defense plans for the impending slaver attack. Tali goes to show her mother the capacitor she built with scraps, small tears rolling down her tiny cheeks.*

See, now this kinda thing actually makes me mad at Tali's mom.  Yes, Rael is a dick for ignoring his daughter, and he definately earns my anger, but where was Tali's mom in this picture?  Yes, she was apparently there, but Tali barely mentions her, leading me to wonder about some things.

I'm a father, and I can't imagine being this distant to my son, but if I were in Tali's mom's shoes, and my wife was ignoring my son for the sake of work, I'd definately have a good, long, loud sit-down with her about it, as often as necessary until something changed.  And if nothing changed on that front, I'd do everything I could to be there for my son, hopefully enough that I'd get more than just a passing mention when my son is asked about his parents.

So, yeah, there's stuff we don't know, and I could be getting angry at Tali's mom for no good reason, but with how it's played out so far, she deserves a good bit of the anger pointed at Rael directed at herself too.

(Not trying to defend Rael by any means, just in case it looks that way to someone reading this.)

Miri Shepard, Ruthless Spacer. ^_^

Why must this be one of the few good-looking femSheps I've seen?

ok For you Buddah, she added alot more Paragon to her ways in Playthrought #2.

What Goat said.  The oil-bucket hair does nothing for me.  I can't understand why people like that one.  Is it just because you need a mod to get it?

I was just trying out the different styles.

I'm curious how they managed to set up the shot, really.

A fleet of fleeing civilian vessels with military escort used to draw the Reaper into position...?

I was thinking bigger.  A whole planet of refugees.

Well, if they can move PLANETS...

(...then the Reapers really shouldn't have been a problem...  :P)

Thank you.

I'm very happy with how it came out.

I think it will also provide a nice uplifting balance for what I have coming up next.

According to the entry on Pluto, humanity can move planets.

But I was just meaning that they left a nice juicy world undefended as Reaper-bait.

Also I kind of got the impression that Tali's mom died early in her life. The conversations with Shaala seem to imply she was the one that mostly raised her.

It's tough to rip on Tali's mom because a. we know less and b. she's been dead for a while.

Though there's no shame in defending Rael.  I'm probably his biggest apologist here.

People, I need your help. If Tali would be renegade, what kind of things she would do to show that.

I think maiming the geth is on top of everything, when encountering them.

But how would she react to racists and accusations of thievery?

Tali's mom died when Tali was 17.  But yeah, it sounds like Rael was far the greater in terms of influence.

If I recall, Tali's ME1 dialog (which I discovered only after a dozen replays) about her father included a passage that he was something of a force of nature and even her mother 'faded into the background' when he was around.  Whatever efforts Tali's mother made on her behalf were probably ignored in his obsession on providing his family with 'security'.

With anger.  And likely with a sense of "well, if they're going to think it without reason, why should I worry about proving them wrong?"

Wait a minute, that makes perfect sense. How does Tali have any memories or have anything to say about her mom when she was no more than a year old when she died?

EDIT FFFUUU Tali was 17 *facepalm*

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Tali's mom died when Tali was a teenager.  I think I remember that being referenced somewhere, I think in ME1.  If so, something of their interactions should have stuck in Tali's mind.  Maybe not enough to alleviate Rael's indifference, but enough to have left an impression that she'd be likely to mention.

It could also be an oversight by the writers (who probably didn't think we'd look this deep into the story), who simply didn't write lines about Tali's mom for Liz to record.  But all we have to go on is what the writers give us, and the writers didn't have Tali mention her mom except in passing, so it makes me wonder why.  *shrug*

Well, if Shep's a paragon, he would likely stop Tali before she did anything too renegade.
So I suspect Tali would just yell at them, and Shep would cut her off before she did anything more drastic.
