Oh?
What does Jones have in mind?
What could possibly be a more cruel and ironic fate for a young girl who loves her toys than to become one?

It causes an intense, insatiable craving for nachos.

Well if you look at it it makes sense, she's heavily in doubt she has to willinginly sign over the indentured servetude. laws of Illium require that all rules and hazards/liabilities are listed before a contract or sale is transacted. So that girl knew exactly wha tshe was gettign into. the only thing that went wrong was the AI corp wasn't hiring as expected.
That enables the "hug a quarian" subroutine.Dark_Helmet wrote...

I don't think you'd like what would happen.

Are you crazy? What is the FIRST thing Garrus tells you about Illium?
"It's the safest place in the galaxy, until you drop off the grid. It's no safer here than Omega."
If that girl had been bought by the wrong person, or sold to someone posing as a SI Rep, she could very easily have ended up in a Batarian Mining Camp. They pretty it up, as Asari often do, but the fact of the matter is, do you really think anyone gives a damn about a quarian being sent off world? They won't even let the Flotilla approach within a certain distance. Illium would probably PAY the Batarians to take her to a mine.

Maybe she gets sold into it by someone she cares about? Happens enough in the modern world...

As always it depends on how reputable the broker is. She turned otu to be good, as Shepard sold the girl to the very same people the broker was trying to.![]()

Add some decent into madness, make it really... horrible. Make Xen's views almost seem like a good idea.

Shepard: Aaaaach-*BANG* Sorry. *sniffs* Oh. Well...I guess you're free.
Quarian: But my contract...
Shepard: Free, as in no strings attached.
Quarian: I don't even have any money.
Shepard: Here you go. Fifty thousand credits. Don't worry. It's nothing.
Quarian: Thank you. I don't know anyone who has been this nice to me, but thank you.
Tali: This has nothing to do with her being a quarian, right?
Shepard: What? No, I just don't like...injustice.
Tali: That's odd. You were so fast to kill that asari, without letting her try to defend herself.
Shepard: Well. I was never a big fan of slave brokers anyway. Let's go.

Suffering and pain will be the stones that pave the way towards... what may or may not be called madness.

Why so much hate for the slave broker? You're talking about Illium, right? She seemed genuinely caring of that quarian. She did sort of treat her like property, but given the sidequest's story, it's kinda understandable. She does say "I'll figure out something" when the quarian inquires about what they'll do. And given how most asari in Mass Effect are, she could have easily been an elitist b!tch.
