The sad thing about SGQ is that she shouldn't have ended up where she was. She had marketable skills, for Christ's sake.

And that's exactly what those fookin' blinks would do, too.

Not that certain Shepards could really complain about a move like that.

You'd have to give them credit; They'd take what humanity could do at the Battle of the Citidel and make it work soooooo much better.

Maybe.  You have to remember that humanity actually managed to bloody the turians before the Council called it off.  The game seems to suggest that the humans can maintain order the in galaxy even while hated.  The batarians?  They can't even wage a successful proxy war against humanity.

Bloddy nose?
We beat a small taskforce that thought it had already won the war.
And the Batarians have probably been making Levaithans of Dis ever since they encountered humanity.

You have to be able to lift at least 20 lbs.

That's a SKILL, okay! Not just anyone can do that.

Yeah. Because all of those people LOVE having quarians. The race that everyone spits on. Working for them. In the public. Where everyone sees that quarian. As for Manual Labor, miners hate quarians, so if that's any indication, that could or could not work. Either way. It won't end well.

A quarian waitress?

Why am I so intrigued by this concept?

Do you think if she wasn't a quarian that she would have had an easier time finding placement?

Smugglers. Slavers. If they really want to, they could get someone off world. Just saying.

Either way, some sytems are far too easily abused, and this one is used on a planet that borders a system where slavery is not only legal, it's encouraged. There's broken, then there is just being stupid. Pretty it up however you like, without Shepard, that whole affair could have gone just as bad as if she'd ended up with a Loanshark. I'm sure it has countless times in the past. It's a system that needs to be crushed.

If she vanishes, I'm willing to bet the penalty falls on her broker.  It incentivized the broker to make sure the rules are being followed.

Hell, I'd buy Mass Effect 4: Shepard Waits In Line At The DMV, just as long as it had Tali in it.

Tali: Ugh! This is taking forever, Shepard.

Possibly.  But she didn't mention trying to find work.  She mentioned gambling everything on the freaking stock market.

Indeed, didn't she say she's leagally responsable for the contract? As in if the quarian breaks the law the broker has to pay any fines and such? I kinda remember her saying somethign about being responsable to the quarian in some leagal manner.

Bribes.

Ever see Lord of War? True story.

Bribes will get you everywhere.

Just saying, I'm sure there are instances where it works.

The ones where it does not however...

Besides, the universe runs just fine without indentured servitude. Having it is more of a risk than a blessing. It should be done away with.

that is lso correct. She is good with math and thought she could make unlimited money on the stock market. She's an Expert AI programmer, she never mentions looking for work in that field.

Then why let us just take their lunch money in the Skyllian Verge?  The batarians are a useless pack of despots.  Their sole export is criminals and terror.  They're like the North Korea of Mass Effect.
