Agreed.

Let us discuss happy things.

Right. Debates are only fun when the topic actually has a purpose.

Okay, name 5 non-romantic or overly emotional-laden/emotionally engaging things she did in ME2 that advanced her personality from ME1.

To be honest, whenever I see Tali's name mentioned all i see is either nude pics, semi-nude pics or verbal praising of either her appearance or her relationship with Shepard, with an occasional off-hand pass to her personality in ME1.

Seriously, what her fandom has turned into... it's like rule 34 on Fred Sanford and his truck. It is simply. Not. Okay.

To be honest I hate all the nude pics too, but i cant see much change from her except an acceptance of reality moreso after her loyalty mission which does change her a bit it seems to me. no i cannot specifically point this out, but just felt as I went through the game with her dialog.
Her original ME1 qualities is why i like her so much and she is still like that, just older.

Heh, funny story, I thought she WAS a LI in the first game, so for my first five playthroughs I tried to find a way to romance her, then found out later you couldn't.

I was sad. I didn't have the slightest interest in Ash or Liara.

I actually disliked the romance in Mass Effect, I do like Ash and Liara, but I thought the romance was rubbish. And yes, Tali interested me as a LI far more than either of the two.

Not needed. Just a little steamed because some pretentious bastard thinks he can come here and talk down to us when he hasn't done a single damn thing to help forward Tali as a love interest.

In terms of characters, Ash and Liara are fine, tough marine chick and innocent but deadly biotic force of nature scientist girl.

They just never appealed to me as a love Interest. Mass Effect is a game that let's you build a character and make choices, to let you make those choices as if you were there. If I was in Shepard's shoes, I wouldn't be interested in Ash or Liara, they just don't have any qualities I can actually respect.

I personally liked her most for her exuberant personality. She was cheery and always eager to help, but she was never ditzy or naive. She could take care of herself. Someone who goes through hardship, can handle herself, and doesn't come out the other end as a ****? I like that.

Also true. When I first met her I admit that I was mostly indifferent. I liked her accent and of course the. . .curves of the suit, but as the game went on I learned more about her character, I found her to be incredibly deep, interesting, and sympathetic.
I was at first upset that she was not an LI in the first game, but now I see that it was all for the best. It made the relationship seem more real when it did bloom.

I never thought that myself.  In ME1 she was the secretly badass mechanic who outlived Krogan in heavy armor.  That was the main reason I liked her.  I also liked her whole race, it just appealed to me.  I'm a techy person, more likely to fix something than throw it away.  My watch is a perfect example of this.  The fact that her whole race is techy just appealed to me.  The only reason I romance her every time is because when I first found out it was possible I couldn't stop shaking my head and smiling.  That whole playthrough every time I thought about it I smiled.  I decided to trust my instincts and continue to pursue the romance.

I've lost faith in IW.

Hmm, I assume you have a very good reason, for they are a great company...(?)

COD4 was pure awesomeness, the MP kicked ass, but they f***ed the MP up with MW2, I gotta admit. It's BS. But I love the story mode, and Spec Ops is nice to play with a friend. When, exactly, did you lose your faith in them?

MW2 sucked. Glitched, unbalanced...it's just not fun.
I've stopped playing a lot of MP now, actually.

Yeah. I do understand you, for it was a big letdown for me too. Because I had way too high hopes for it. Yeah I don't play much MP nowadays either. The great single player games just take the cake every single time. =]

:o what about BF:BCII

Haven't had time to even get it. :D but now, shut the OT.

lol get it when get the chance far better than mw. now how about that Tali.

So, name five entirely generic, emotionless, and uninteresting things?

That's. . .not have character development works. . .

Honestly, what is it that you're trying to prove here? It's not like everyone's going to say; "OH MY GOD YOUR RIGHT!" and leave.
You don't like the way Tali's character went? That's fine. That's your opinion and you're welcome to it, but do not expect to step into any situation with a 'holier then thou' attitude and think you aren't going to get **** from the people who's interests your insulting.

No one is forcing you to like Tali, no one is making you stay here. If you're unhappy; don't subject yourself to it. You do not speak for the rest of us, you're not going to change anyone's thoughts or feelings.
Deal with it.
Or don't.
Honestly, I've stopped caring.

I'm actually glad that Tali was not a romance option in ME1, she would have likely had a poor romance as well. The way it was worked into ME2 was one of the biggest improvements ME2 had over ME1, her romance, along with all the other characters, was actually well-written and was unique instead of following along a parallel fashion like ME1 did. Tali's along with Garrus' romance were the most significant ones, in my opnion.Image IPB

Agreed.

"Cerberus. I'll never work for an organization like that."

Really?

REALLY?

Because I could totally see you working for an organization like that. And hey, see that turian behind me? Yeah, the one with a crater in his face? He's with me too. Cerberus is pro human and most pro humans HATE turians, but Garrus sucks it up. And hey! See that other alien behind me? The one with the visor? Cerberus attacked her people, tried to blow up one of their ships. They both have every reason in the world to hate Cerberus, but they joined up for ME. Yeah... go back to the council you snivelling... ugh...

I REALLY hated Horizon...

You couldn't talk to Ash/Kaiden/Liara without having to do the romance scene. So now, whenever I make a new ME1 file, I ignore them, unless I want to have them as an LI.

Your instincts speak true.

See, I didn't read anything about ME2 before playing, so I had no idea that Tali would even be in the game let alone an LI.
When she made her first cameo I was happy, when I found she was recruitable, I was overjoyed. When Kelly gave that line; "I think she wants to be more then friends," I fliped right the **** out. My face was in a constant state of: :o for, like, nine hours.
