I would have accepted something like "it doesn't fit the game lore" or "it breaks the characters or story". Well, anyway, I think it is your loss, nothing more. 

At first I raged, and raged, and raged....and now I'm becoming ... insensitive to that story.

Yeah, I've always thought that it had some similarity to what's going on between Shep and Tali. And then FZT should be Garrus.
