Damn, Rip.  What's with the last entry of the night these days?

You're always starting it off with a bang. Figure I should end it with a whimper.

Then we complement each other.

Something I've come to appreciate over our long journey into Tali's story.

I am envious that they stay here and not in the forum I frequent.

Poor geth never stood a chance.

Getting between Shepard and Tali is like getting between a momma bear and her cub.
Worse even. Bears can't use guns or shoot fire from their hands.

Yes, it's disappointing. I actually found Jacob to quite useful, at least in the early part of the game. I rank up incendiary ammo and give him the eviscerator. He cleans house. Once armor, shielding, and barriers are gone, I have him use pull on the enemy, which has saved me from dying quite a few times.

Before I respond to this: Jesus Christ, ya'll. Now I'll never shake the feeling that you reappear in Tali's life just as she hits rock goddamn bottom. And it's the best thing that's ever happened to her.

Hell, it might even explain her behaviour at the meeting: she doesn't get enthused because she's too tired to feel feelings after all that. Damn.... just damn.

Where was I?

Oh yeah. My Vanguard run with Jacob was great. With him and Tali in the party, running into any group of enemies suddenly turned into a game of Skeet Shooting: Shepard shouts "Pull!", Jacob pulls a guy screaming into the air, and Shepard and Tali hose him down in midair. Shepard pulls the next guy himself with Tali and Jacob shooting... repeat as necessary.

It's hilarious. I kept the guy around almost the whole game.

We have an interesting reputation on TZO, or so I've heard.

I'm really sorry.  The atmosphere here is different.  Not always in a good way, definitely.  But it just feels like this is where the action is at sometimes.

So far as I've seen (and I have not seen everything), it's basically just wishing the "night crew" would go on TZO.

Sounds like we've done our job, then.  One of the reasons I write FF at all (because let's face it, it's not high art in general) is to enhance the experience of playing.

Agreed. TZO isn't bad, but this will always be my 'home' and these my people.

True. Maybe I'm just more annoyed by trolls than others. Just wished some of the more intelligent posters of the thread didn't have to post in an unmoderated environment that often turns sour and uncomfortable.

“You’re a coward, Zaal!” Han growled as he slammed his fist into the abused table, “a suit *******ng, child who’s afraid to stand up for something! Even in the face of the utter annihilation of our people, of every organic civilization, you plea for us to not to fight! You should be exiled!”

Han's verbally beating Zaal's ass. I love writing FF's so much.

Most "high art" is done and admired by pompous, over-educated, pretentious, single-minded clods who spend more time talking about their class rather than appreciating the values of what they cherish and instead keep for the sake of it.

EXACTLY.

Fanfiction should serve to enhance it's core material. We don't know what happened to Tali before Freedom's Progress, If you want to believe this is what happened until we hear better from Bioware, if we hear better, then Buddha and I have done our jobs.

Okay, I think I have a better way to say it:  Here, there's a kind of vitality.  When stuff starts rolling on the night shift, you never know who's watching.  And there are a lot of lurkers.  We could do our thing on TZO, but we'd basically just be doing it for ourselves.

Does that make sense?

And really, this time of night, the kids are all in bed, so there's rarely a real troll problem.

To hell with that.

I have everyone I like right here. I prefer the oversight of the mods, and at least moderately on topic conversation.

I'm staying.

HA!  True.  I'd read Calinstel over James Joyce any day.  But I'm just saying that Noir Tali is Noir is no Andre Norton or Tolkien or The Black Company or whatever.

Agreed.

That, and I'm not going to run away because Priestly throws the occasional hissy fit.
