From my earlier post, having talked with a dentist buddy. It's all conjecture, obviously we know nothing about Quarian biology beyond what the game tells us. But as general sci-fi nerds we just figured that kissing an alien race would trigger different tastes and sensations in our mouths that we normally wouldn't get from kissing another human.

Well, it's your idea.  Don't want to ruin your story by my ideas.  Seriously, I am planning on getting close to your idea but not too indepth.  Almost did it during primal Tali but wanted to keep the sexual side of that idea out of the chapter.

Well Awesomeologist is the one that brought up the science, I just suggested using it
And considering I'm going to totally be stealing some of your quarian biology and culture ideas, I wouldn't mind even if it was my idea lol
Plus like I said, I'm a ways off. Shepard just got Tali back on the ship at the point I'm at.

Ha! Not trying to create more work for you, you seem to do enough of that on your own! (Seriously, a chapter a day? Why hasn't some publishing company hired you yet?)

But yeah my dentist friend figures if nothing else, beyond allergic reactions and diseases, kissing any alien, especially one different enough to be dextro based, would just taste and feel different. Might be minor, like tasting slightly sweet or bitter, or maybe even sharper like a metallic taste. Who knows? Figured you fan-fic writers could have fun with this.

Could be as simple as Shepard asking

Here's one for ya..  One of our enzymes matchs closely to the quarian equivelent of endorphins....   Could be fun.

I see what you're saying about allergic reaction:  though since the game already notes that she's going to have one, it apparently isn't that serious.  But disease?  No.  Whatever she's got in her mouth is probably going to be dextro-based in its biology, too, and will just die out of its environment.

The different taste thing has been brought up before.  The theory was that since the few dextro things on Earth taste sweet due to how our tastebuds handle them, well, you get the idea.  This is the "barely science" theory, though.

Sorry if you felt like you got ignored last night.  When was it?  There was an f-ing huge troll problem for about an hour and you may have stumbled into that.
